Comments: Nah Douglas, I'll leave it her just to be a "Guideline #1"

Admin can take it down if they want. Stop taking MP so seriously.

Fact: You gave the climb less stars because it takes big gear.

I wouldn't consider it the climbs fault if I didn't have the appropriate gear, sorry.

And per your email rant, I only lead in the 5.8 range and will probably never lead 5.11. If that makes me a poser for commenting on your lame reasoning, then oh well...

Comments: In its current state, I would give HOTC p1 a rating of 3.75 out of 4 stars. I drop it from 4 stars only because it requires some really big gear for protection that not everyone has

Sorry. That's a lame statement. Basically, you give it less stars because you don't have the right gear?

With that logic, all ice climbs are 1 star because I don't have ANY of the appropriate gear.

Way to base quality of a climb on your lack of gear...

Comments: Cool John, that makes more sense. All valid points. Damn the internet!!!

I want your book to do well, it deserves it!!! Do you offer pdf versions? This may appeal more to the internet crowd with their iPhones and smart devices. Just a thought.

It was my first foray into a dirty route, and honestly, I liked it!! Well, in a sick kind of way.

I see more groveling in my future. :)

Comments: Cool John, it was a beast of a climb.

I really was trying to draw attention to your book because it is so extensive and great to have in the pack. I understand your issue with the site killing guide book sales but I see at as free advertisement. I would be pissed if someone just copied your description out of the book but this wasn't the case, I've the scrapes on my hands to prove it.

I also think it is good to post the climbs on here to open up dialogue on the climbs. It's nice to hear what ... more >>

Comments: John, Mustard will attest to my uncanny ability to mix up left and right. It's the left slanting crack that starts to the right of the picture (edited description). Hard man, hard. Not 5.7.

Comments: ^^^^^^

This guide is awesome for the area. For a .7-.8 climber it's helped to point me to some fun stuff. Going to go hit some .6 and .7 up above snowshed today and help clean it out!!!!

Thanks J. Jackson, see you at happy hour.

Comments: The second bolt is loose on this climb. Really loose.

Not a hard climb but wouldn't want a first time leader slipping out of the slot.

Comments: How about the finger crack start to the left of the flake? I did that start and avoided the flake completely and the arete mostly, it was fun and felt a lot harder.

The mantle start is for sure fun though...

I dig this climb...

Comments: Actually, you might have climbed past the anchors...

Way to go man...

Who would have thought that the anchors would be at the top of the crack? Doesn't really make sense to me...

Comments: My first lead and one sweet line. I think the crux is at the bottom but depending on your height it could be where the line goes vertical. Being 6 foot the vertical section was not that tough. Also, some really nice nut placements at the rests.
