Comments: George, thanks for your bullshit comments. You should do a little investigtion before you spout off. I did not chop those bolts, and I stand by my comments about "Sport Park" like bolting at Pulpit Rock.

Comments: If done with Elmo's Amber Alert give it 3 stars. Nate A and Pale Dale added 2 new lines to the left:
"Saber Rattler" 5.8 R, starts above the piled stone boundary marker, and "Hermit Kingdom" 5.8 R climbs the thin, right-facing corner left of Leo's "Features...."

Comments: The gang loved this 5.10 route, and keeping with current events, I think it's named "New York Reload".

Comments: Sadly, my only FA in Eldo is a scary chosspile with a shitty anchor. Levin's wonderful guide should subtract S&M from his 5.7 classics tour.

Comments: The 20 ft. fingercrack crux is the only decent section of this 120 ft pitch, the rest is a teetering stack of rotten blocks, especially the initial pillar/flake which will soon be scattered about the trail.

Comments: Perhaps, Leo, you could suggest to the boy/boys that are bolting these lines: a lesson at Home Depot before any more routes are butchered.

Comments: Please clean up this mess of a bolting job. Three stupid, overbolted routes within arms reach of each other. What's with the 2 steeper routes to the right, again a stupid bolted variation with mangled bolts still showing. What kind of an example does this set: an area with many moderates that is sure to be visited and only several hundred feet from a National Park trailhead? Reminds me of the Golden Shower fiasco at Loch Vail but worse.

Comments: If you are the people doing the route development on the lowest level of Pulpit Rock : PLEASE STOP!!! This is an abortion of a bolting job, in style, aesthetics, and workmanship.

Comments: Correct, the right hand, right-facing dihedral start to Hanging Tree (the tree now dead) sucks. The 1st ascent (i.e.: Tim Hansen) led a scary, no pro start in from the left. An excellent, 3 star variation: Lynch Mob 5.10R (Nate A. 2012) begins 60 ft. left with a fingercrack under a large evergreen bush. Avoid the bush and monkeyhang traverse horizontally right some 60ft to the Hanging Tree.

But you can see Nate and mine route on the left side of photo in Gillet's current RMNP High Peaks. We left no wire except at the rap station on Astro's far and upper left side and the rt we did is only 50 ft or so south from this rap.

Comments: Tbol; quite a long mostly trashy hike up to this fine tower. From your topo with I assume refers to the (climber's) left side of Astro Tower approx. 150 ft. right of the rap chimney Nate A and I did the wide crack in boulder shown in your topo ie; easy looking but 5.10 R squeeze chimney to a belay 50 ft. higher.2nd pitch stright up great steep 5.10 minus hand crack and followed that all the way full rope with more 5.9 cracks to summit. No name yet, Nate did this 5 yrs ag... more >>

Comments: Thanks, gentlemen, for adding modern rap anchors above Baileys. I broke the thin, undercling flake out right from the crux. I would have to call it harder 5.10 now.

Comments: Rest assured the cable anchor atop the NW corner of the Sharksfin, 1/4 inch, aircraft quality steel, h2o proof tape, double copper swedged at each loop rates 18,000 lbs, will be there long after you're gone Ivan, unless plate tectonics speed up. These same quality cable anchors are also atop Crosswinds, and the 1st pitch Wide Load. As well as the Bookmark Pinnacle.
