More Info
Hello, I am looking for a partner who enjoys climbing sport, multi-pitch trad, mixed (bolts & gear), and ice/mixed climbing. My ideal partner would enjoy all styles of climbing and have ambitions to move towards doing more alpine style accents. I can get out most weekends to climb in Arizona and take monthly trips (3-5 days) to out of state areas like Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Smith Rock, Potrero Chico, Ouray/Telluride, Salt Lake area, etc. Additionally, on an annual basis, I am ambitious to take on bigger objectives in areas like South America, Alaska, Cascades, and the Alps (2-4 weeks).
For all climbing beyond sport and single pitch trad, I'd expect a partner to be proficient at or motivated to learn/develop the following skills and attributes:
1. Quickly and safely setting up and breaking down bomber anchors
2. Know how to jug
3. Self rescue
4. Endurance for multi-day alpine climbs
5. Steep snow climbing technique and self-arrest
6. Ice climbing skills to WI-1, including anchors
7. An ability to withstand the cold and stay focused and motivated
I'd love to hear from you and go climbing, even if it's just at AZ on the Rocks or hitting the local crags.
Cheers,
Shawn
