Comments: Why are so many comments about copperheads at Peterskill here on Mountain Project? I have been climbing the Gunks for more than 20 years and I have only ever seen a copperhead (and it was a baby) at the Trapps along the carriage road. Only snake I've ever seen at PK was a large black snake near Night Owl at the Bunkbed wall. Has there suddenly been an explosion in the copperhead population at PK? I did part of an environmental study there about 5 yrs ago and didn't find any snakes, only liza... more >>

Comments: jroo-vw, are you sure you were in the right place? Both bolts are present at the top of the arete (night owl, etc). Looked the same today as it did when I was there 5 yrs ago. Additionally, there are bolts a couple of feet over to anchor for sleepwalking, etc to the right of night owl.

Comments: Why is OC on here for climbing? There really isn't any. Corona Del Mar is dirty with dead sea gulls and diapers all the time, Turtle Rock is illegal to climb, and Ortega is quite forgettable. The worse thing for me is that I moved here from the Gunks for med school!
Living in the OC isn't so bad if you don't mind driving a little to go climbing (Jtree, Tahquitz/Suicide, and San Deigo County), but as far as climbing in OC is concerned it's dry.

Comments: Where's the belayer for the guy on the left? I thought he might be using a silent partner or something, but the rope goes all the way to the ground it looks like.
