Comments: ^ ladd, i took a surprise fall on this route a few years back. i think a .75 camalot was the piece that stopped me. i flew for a 15 footer when my foot just popped; it didn't dampen my enthusiasm for this classic route!

Comments: you'll likely experience a tad bit o' exposure once you pass the sloping rail. rigid stemmed friends are damn near necessary as flex cabled units would likely rip if you fell. this is one of those curious situations where the rigid stem 'levers' or 'pitons' to create reliable pro.

Comments: classic! i repeated this one many times because it is that good. a good 'barometer' route to know if you're on form for the harder endless wall testpieces.

Location: NC : Moore's Wall : North End : Nicotine (5.13a/b) By: sean barb When: Feb 1, 2009 | view comment >> |
Comments: back when i climbed it, nicotine had its own independent anchor. i racked up with a small tcu that protected some fun climbing between the pin and an anchor of equalized nuts. i'm relying on memories of at least 12y ago, but it seems that the anchor was roughly the same height as the mighty mouse anchor; higher than the middle road anchor ledge. the anchor just sorta rotted away and most ascents these days just traverse over to mighty mouse.

Comments: I honeymooned here and had a great time exploring the boulders. The limiting factors are heat and sand. I didn't take a pad and had no spotters, but the climbing was still fun. I preferred the boulders of Spring Bay and Devils Bay over the Baths proper... too many gawkers! Hopefully more folks will contribute beta; its a great little bouldering vacation paradise.

Comments: Great route; although I climbed it before the major rockfall. The lieback corner pitch is really classic; bring doubles in the 1-1.5" stuff. Bring some big cams for the last pitch, its worth it!
