Comments: East Face to the top of the washboards. Direct East Face to the top of the PeeWee. East Buttress to the summit. 7 hr 20 min car to car. Direct makes for a TERRIFYING solo!!

Comments: Last week watched Dean Potter (we think) base jump from the diving board as we were waking up on big sandy and starting the first pitch of the zig zags. One of the most terrifying and awesome things I have ever seen as he flew by us 30 feet from the ledge.

Comments: Hey all,

Somewhat new to the Eldo scene, yet climbed here a few times and was THOROUGHLY impressed with the professionalism and dedication that Eldo advents had exhibited. Whether it be friendliness of the locals, despite the fact that we were jumping on their classics on our first trip, or the cherry descents that can be made in the tightest of climbing shoes with ease. All I can say I guess is thank you to those who cherish and maintain this amazing canyon for all.

Comments: Made into one long pitch like aformentioned but was using a 70m. The two pins at the very top of the route are adequate and can be backed up with a #0.75 C4.

I imagine you could rap from these if you wanted to leave some gear behind, or if you continue 25' up and south around the top of the buttress you'll find a good set of 1/2" rap anchors. A 70m will take you right to the top of the first "pitch" to a 1/2" bolt and a solid pin to rap to the ground. Be careful getting your rope stuck i... more >>

Comments: Beautiful sunny mid-winter day on 19 Dec 09. Got an early start and had an amazing time up this. Made 5 pitches out of it. Scrambled up the first "pitch" then linked P2 and P3, and P4 and P5 through the roof. Ended up with awesome ledges to belay from besides the hanging belay right before the roof section.

Water streaks are a little dicey like mentioned. First one is protected by the only bolt on the route, a rusty quarter-inch with a homemade hangar. Second dicey move is about 30 feet higher ... more >>
