Comments: There is an actual climber's trail at the top of the driveway that starts out looking like a runoff trail, but it is the start of the climber's trail. You can bushwhack too up the ravine, too, but it's my understanding the owners don't have an issue. We did however try to keep "out of sight/out of mind" as much as possible while on the property.

Please post up if you know otherwise.

Comments: Agreed that you most likely will get into some 5.6 terrain if you climb this route. Started off in the 5.2 range, but then quickly got exposed and going about 5.5-5.6. Right-facing flake system that moved up into a right facing dihedral. Instead of crossing over to move up to the next system directly under the large tree with rap slings, we continued straight up. This continued to be a large R-facing corner that followed a somewhat slabby polished water groove. Positive moves and it took gear... more >>

Comments: Start is a little awkward on the right up the left-facing ramp, but it is a fun climb. Do it in one pitch, stopping is a waste as it was shorter than I thought with a 60m. Pretty correct for the grade, but for new leaders, have your crux gear placing together. Gear is all there to protect the moves and there is some fun crack climbing. The only part that felt exposed is gaining the ramp up into the face as it was left leaning. (BETA) I threw in a blue TCU at the start and a BD 0.75 to pull the... more >>

Comments: Trying to figure out what the lines closest to the river are. I thought we were on left and right line, but the pictures don't match. Two bolted lines about 50-60 feet to chains within 5 feet of the river. 10ft. of unprotected slab to either a pumpy arete' or to the right line. Pictures don't seem to match and both are within 5 or so feet of each other. We basically followed the river down from the Avalon tyrolean until we hit the wall and could go no farther. I "thought" this was the lower... more >>

Comments: I agree with Paul. (BETA) The arete has steeper more committing moves, but if you go right, you end up in the blank friction zone. Felt like a pretty solid 5.7 even as short as it is.

Comments: There is also a TV-sized block at the east end of Red Ledge. Probably just a matter of time before it goes down the West Chimney.

Comments: Summit rap anchors have the worst rope pull from friction I've ever seen. Expect difficult pulls the entire rope length.

Comments: Rope pull on the summit rap anchors is incredibly difficult. I've never had such a hard time pulling a rope through due to friction.

I don't recommend the east slab "walk off" descent. The way we went basically was the equivilant of downclimbing the Second Flatiron, with some mid-5th class and very sketchy moves in places. Very long descent. This is not the easy or fast way down. Do it once and rap any other time.

There is also a TV-sized block at the east end of Red Ledge. Probably jus... more >>

Comments: I've always loved this place, but it's a gym now. Top ropes on most of the moderate lines. We try to lead then move on but everything was being occupied by huge groups.

Better mid week.

Comments: FYI, the tree stand for the tyrolean is broken (7/12/12). Also, there is a death block to the right of Reunion that is quite loose.

Comments: Led up this just to clean the anchors. Probably one move of 5.3 and then not any harder than walking around the back. It should be called this "it is what it is", since that's pretty much the deal. Great for new leaders. You can lead up to the first bolt then combine the line w/ Nurse Nikki (5.5) for a really safe first lead.

Comments: I wouldn't quite give it a bomb, but the little roof is the 5.5 move and after that it's done. But it's a great for new leaders.
