Comments: Anybody have beta on more buildering projects around the district? Surely some of those old monuments are climb able. The Georgetown canal can't be the only rocky edifice worth getting calluses on! DC climbers need to unite! PM me if you are in DC and want to get outside.

Comments: 5.8- at most. Honestly this is 15 feet of slimy, poor-protected crack climbing and 40 feet of even slimier, impossibly-protected 5.6 chimney-ing. Not recommended.

Comments: Pwa are you serious Nick? I feel like (apart from Lander and Ten Sleep), WY has some pretty serious bolting ethics. Not sure how it compares to Montana. I'm just saying, this line would be a fun trad lead, but I understand why it is bolted, considering the near-lack of trad lines anywhere else in the area.

Comments: This could certainly be lead on gear if one was so inclined (I'm rather surprised that it's bolted actually)

Comments: I was up here today 08/13/12, and I noticed a freshly placed bolt about five feet to the right of this crack 1/4 of the way up the route. After the bolt there is no more protection, so either the bolt is for the extremely runout slab climb to the right of Sugar Crack, or it is a very unnecessary and irresponsibly placed bolt, and should be chopped.

Any info?

Comments: VERY fun climb! Sent this fat baby in the middle of a thunderstorm - the rain didn't affect the climb whatsoever. Classic 5.9 offwidth testpiece.

Comments: In the picture for Midsummer Sall, if one looks up and to the left of the big tree, several climbs can be found. These climbs can be accessed from fall wall (as if one was going to climb Hole, but continued to traverse right around the wall). One of these climbs has at least one bolt on it; however, the area is not listed in any of the guidebooks, and I've had trouble finding it on MP. Does anyone have any info regarding these mystery climbs?

Comments: My partner John and I attempted this climb last night. The climbing was great, but when we reached "the hole" part of the climb, we were incessantly harassed by two very angry crows. Upon investigation, we found that they had a nest with a chick right in the hole (we would have had to crawl over it to complete the climb). The crows threw pine cones and branches at me and screamed at my partner. Since going back to the cold fingers rap would have been sketchy, we downclimbed to the right to a tre... more >>

Unknown climb in the main area.

Does anyone know which climb this is? It is a beautiful hand crack around the corner from Fall Wall (to the right/north-east). There are rap bolts at the top of the climb and there is a mixed (freshly bolted) face/crack climb that shares an anchor with this climb. A very fun climb! Felt like 5.9, very sustained crack. I can't find it anywhere in any of the guidebooks or online.

Comments: On the approach to Jurassic Park, on the left side, approximately 75 yards to the east of recombination mutation, there are several (easy-looking) bolted slab climbs. These climbs don't appear on the site nor in the H & T book, and the bolts look shiny/new. Does anyone know who bolted these or their grades?

EDIT: After investigation, I found this to be the Old Folk's Wall.

Comments: If you look in the 1987 "Climber's Guide to Castlewood Canyon" by Alan Mosiman, James Coffin is listed as getting the FA. Not sure when you climbed it- but I'd appreciate giving credit where it's due.
