Comments: I agree about the ratings. I would not consider this guide excellent, but only inaccurate on many occations. Just an opinion and an observation. Thanks for the beta Jason.

Comments: Monomaniac, that is correct. There were several life interruptions at that time.

Comments: Aaron, The original route was never finished due to the Cerro Grande Fire of 2000. Everyone who was working on this route either got their house burned or thier lives shuffled a bit. The last hole was drilled and the bolt never got installed. The route was incomplete. I view the changing of this route without approval clueless and disrespectful. It was a fine climb the way it was and I would like to see it restored back to its original condition even if I have to do it myself. Just because your ... more >>

Comments: The Clifty Quickie gully scramble is on the south side(climbers right) of what some are calling Thanksgiving Rock. The scramble is the gully in the center of this photo.

Comments: Thanksgiving rock is just one of the hundreds of rock formations that make up Clifty. Thanksgiving rock is only one formation and not every aspect of the complete hillside which is considered Clifty.

Comments: First Ascent Party was Ken Kisiel, Dennis Newell, and Scott Beguin, before it was retrobolted by team Bradshaw by approval of the first ascensionists. I believe Josh Smith bagged the first free ascent after bolts were added.

Comments: This is a full 200 foot pitch to the belay, so use two 60m lines to get off. There is a nice WI5 60 foot tall pillar at the top of Treasure Falls if it is in. It is well worth the extra credit.

Comments: This is a Good route at Mile Marker 37 but I only give it two stars because of rock quality. It is continuous at the 11a grade. The bolts are rusting as this gets the weather.

Comments: This is a great 10a warm up climb on solid rock.

Comments: The route suggests 11b, but I think it is has one 11a move at the 1st bolt with some cruiser 5.10, but pumpy climbing afterwards to the anchors. I recommend not blowing the anchor clip as it could result in a tweaked ankle.
