Comments: Nathan, I think a lot of folks posting comments don't know what "ground up" means. Hell, I bet if you asked everyone at Pilot on any given Saturday, less than 10% would know what ground up meant.

This was one of my first onsights at this grade - maybe THE first. Amazing route. Mill Creek has got to be one of the best sport climbing crags anywhere in the world.

Comments: Still one of the best routes I've done anywhere. Right after I did it I graded Stampede 11- and I seem to have given this one 5.11 so I must have thought this was harder. I don't remember which pitch it was, but the beginning had this crazy vertical and very shallow dish that you stem and palm your way up - I'll never forget that.

Comments: I think Super DIrect just feels hard because you could hit the ground if you blow the crux. If the moves were 50 feet up a clean face it would probably feel about has hard as Air Show, which also gets 8+.

Comments: I fell 40 feet at Stone Mountain a few years ago. Neither of my knees touched the rock and I don't think I'd have had time to think "OK, slide on the kneepads" if I had been wearing them.
In fact, if you stay under control and relax, falling on a slab as blank as what you find at Stone is not nearly as bad as one might think. All I had to do is get my shoes resoled and take a week or so off to let my hand (singular) heal from the road rash.
