This is one of the most exposed routes I have been on at the Lake. Rated at a 5.4 is a bit low for the top portion I thought. It should be listed as a classic as far as I am concerned. Devils lake classics usually have old pitons and this one does up at the exposed top move(s).

By: roger fritz from rockford, IL When: Oct 23, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: A couple loose blocks at strategic/crux locations. Be careful, but I truly think they have been loose for decades! One is a diagonal shaped block about half way up and is great for a lie-back. The 2nd one is toward the top and is about 1 to 1-1/2 foot tall little tower. It should only be used for a pull straight downward. An outward pull may lever it down on your belayer!

The lower section is definitely the crux if you follow the goofy crack system. I thought it was R at the bottom but very protect able up top. Great lead. True to it's 5-6 rating.
