More Info
I'm a math grad student living in Houston.
I go climbing in Austin (E-rock, Reimer's, Greenbelt) as often as I can, which is not often enough. I'm always looking for partners since all of my friends are lazy. I'd go climbing a lot more often if I had a motivated partner.
I'd like to start learning trad. I even bought a bunch of trad gear recently.
I never mind climbing below my level, especially when leading. To me, climbing is about getting outside and enyoying the rock and not about relentlessly working to advance my grade. I could care less if I never climb a 5.12 in my life. I still like to challenge myself once in a while, though, and if I happen to become a better climber in the process then great.
I'm also interested in doing some mountaineering if I can keep it relatively cheap, but not in Texas of course. I have most of the necessary gear and would be willing to buy the rest for a worthwhile trip.
