Comments: Hey Kelly-
We were definitely aware of the history here. It was obvious that a few lines had been climbed given the 10 year old cut branches and the bench at the warm up wall :)
Considering there are no signs, the boulders are 10 feet from the main road, no fences or property lines, and the houses are more than 2-300 yards away, we deduced these boulders were accessible.

By no means is anyone encouraging trespassing like you suggested. I have removed the photo topo and directions. If there... more >>

Comments: Is this that rig you showed me long ago? Hidden down kinda on the top backside? With the super low start?

Comments: I had to try so hard to top this rig out- not a gimmie! I ended up crossing right hand to an opposing sloper edge, matching hands up high somewhere, and standing off a high right foot.

Comments: Nice Andy!
Stoked to see you agree with our assessment of the area. Do we know what kind of rock that white stone is? It can't be sandstone… or can it?

Comments: This quick overview only wishes it could be one of Andy's hand drawn topos….

Also to note:
In between Olsmolke and Rattled but the Rush lies a variation project that combines these two line essentially. We were kind of psyched. But it is there for the taking.
Left hand undercling, right hand gaston. Big right hand move out to open hand edge. Hard moves through the center of the boulder await.

Comments: What is that tricky footwork? I couldn't figure it out the other day.
Left hand sloper, right hand on open handed edge. Left toe down on jug to warm up start. Went left hand to edge high on prow.. then? It was hard to avoid bailing left on the warm up problem. Daniel & I figured a way to stamp a high right toe and stand it out, but then we were stuck in the moss without an exit? Beta help! please.. :)

Comments: Awesome Thomas. Chimera took me 3 sessions to figure out. I'm on the shorter end of the spectrum and as this was a thuggy reach, I ended up with a right toe down slight backstep on the slot, low near the starting jug, and left toe about 6-12in left of that on a particular edge. This proved to be really consistent for me without any face scraping! Great job fellas.
I still have yet to do Chimera right, feels way hard.

Comments: Pretty sure both Daniel K. and Seth C. have done this line since the small breakage on the lip of the pocket. fyi- it still goes and doesn't affect the line that much as I understand it

Comments: Incandescence has broken. The line was questionable to begin with as we knew the hold may go. However The Tempest seems to stand the test of time and remains the gem of the cave. Billy goat also has stayed true. Maybe Incandescence will clean up?

Comments: Ah unfortunately we kind of knew this was inevitable. I even remember telling folks to "try and do it before it breaks"
The tempest seemed to be "the line" of the cave - hopefully it stands the test of time! As of about a month ago, I went up there and it seemed to still be in good condition- I swear that rail you match on near the lip keeps getting a little bigger each time I go there

Comments: Went up there yesterday. A friend and I worked this sit start from the far left on two crimps. Fired to right hand sloper, matched then went into undercling and finished on "nicos problem" pretty cool and hard. No send, but close.

Comments: Nice work!
I'm also around 5'8" and had to toe down for the throw. Definitely a rad move!

We'll see what happens to a few of these holds with more traffic. The nature of this sandstone seems to forever be in a state of flux.

Comments: Hey Kelly-
This cave i would call behind Kelly's Hill. If you come from parking and head up the hill- one has to pass all the boulders (including the mini roof crack and johnny bigmouth) and continue up and over the hill.
(I will go up there with ya anytime)
We could be talking about the same area but I'm still not sure.. (you are a walking guidebook :)

I think the last time we climbed together was up at johnnybm a few yrs. ago and there was no mention of it?
Whether climbed before or not, th... more >>

Comments: Please correct me if this area has been climbed before. There was evidence of people being there but not climbing (i.e. broken bottles, one etching "LA"). I had to clean a lot of dead brush and rocks from the cave and clean many holds to make it climb-able. The whole development process is so rewarding :)

unique movement on unique holds. A great stand alone line for the area- and Bobs description was spot on!
