Comments: Hard for 5.9. Think 5.9/desert. A 70m rope will NOT reach the ground from the first pitch. Take 2 ropes or a tag line.

Comments: This route seems like a poor apology for bolting the left side of the crack.

Comments: I climbed this on all gear just to prove I could. I thought the route was super easy to protect and there were plenty of placements. I know, I know, getting people to stop grid bolting gear-protectable lines in the Uintas is a lost cause. Don't worry, I won't chop your bolts.

Comments: This has to be the worst route on the wall. Perhaps it is the worst route in the Uintas. Not fun, chossy rock, etc. Don't bother.

Comments: As of 6/27/12, there is still a lot of snow by the creekside wall. Other walls are climbable. The road from Alta to the Campsite, however is closed making the approach rather long. Anyone know when they open the gate?

Comments: What gear placements? This crack is meant for top-roping. "This is a short route, maybe 5.6 but very runout. Definitely meant for TRing."

Comments: Skip the first 2 bolts as it's really just a V0 boulder problem, and the bolts are so close together. The bolts on this climb are closer together than on the walls of Momentum. If you can skip a few bolts, the rope drag will be much less and make the crimpy section up high much easier. At least sling them long. The climb itself is fantastic. Only downside is how easy it would be to bail off to the right at any point and use black elk as a safety net. Finally, the anchors are a little goofy, ... more >>

Comments: Isn't this crag closed - and climbing there a good way to give climbers a bad name in the Wasatch?

Comments: Brian, and everyone, the death flake at the top is still there, and even if it wasn't, continue to be careful. There's a lot of loose rock near the top. Hard crux move in my opinion.

Comments: I agree w/ those who think that this is a better route than IHC. Not to put any route down in the Creek. I thought is was just superb. Superb!! Big big hands at the top. Bring some #3's or equivalent. 70 meter rope works fine. Just make sure you're using your 70. :)

Comments: A couple things: The north side, or the picnic area is not a pay area. If you paid to get into the canyon, you're already good. The best way to get to the crag is usually to head up, west, through the picnic area. At the last picnic table, you'll see a trail that continues west. Follow that trail until it hits the trail going up north to the cliffs. Enjoy spectacular moderate sport routes.
