Comments: Beta: Take a C5 for the second pitch, you'll want it. With only a C4 it's doable, but you should be confident running it out 20-25 feet in 5.7 OW. We only had a single C4, so the second pitch was scary. Also, I thought starting the second pitch was the crux of the route, harder than the last pitch (pitch 4).

I'm not sure why there's a bolt on the final pitch (pitch 4). A C4 protects the climbing perfectly.

Opinion: Kind of a lame route. Its the first I've done in Sedona and considering i... more >>

Comments: I would rate the direct start at 5.11c. It feels v3 to me and harder than many other 5.11b routes.

Comments: Only did the first two pitches. The second pitch was hard, the feet disappear halfway up and the finger locks are difficult. But the true difficulty is the pitch's sustained nature. There is a large block at the top of the pitch that is about to come loose. Be careful with it.

The third pitch looked hard, with lots of moss in the initial crack. We rapped from the top of 2.

Comments: What a great shot. I remember standing on little edges for 10 min. just staring at the anchors. This climb is just wonderful.

Comments: So I took this topo with me on the climb and it proved perfect except for the upper pitches. The perspective makes it seem like the top is much closer than it really is. If using it, just know that you aren't nearly as close as you might think.

While I thought the rock quality was terrible at times the exposure at the top is so much fun that it more than makes up for it. Makes for a long day.
