Comments: A neglected classic. This is one of Potrero' s finest long routes.
The apache line is a good option for the first pitch.

Comments: I went to the playground area yesterday a.m. (Friday, June 14) and there was a red dog hanging out. It was super mellow, kind of old, and had a collar with no tags. I gave it about a liter of water. Is this your dog? local neighborhood dog? There was nobody else around.

Comments: Just had to post it on the internet, huh?
I know it should go without saying, but please tread lightly out here. Climbers have already trampled all over the fragile and formerly pristine desert soil.

Comments: no, wasn't me. some dudes from indiana bolted that thing. I just happened to be there when it went up. That and cactus dancing were the first sport climbs on the mota wall which was formerly known as the Indiana Wall.

Comments: I climbed this thing a number of years ago. The second pitch was classic. The chimney on the third and fourth pitches was very silty and insecure with no gear except for the belay. We took a standard rack with some large cams. Gear is needed for the belay at the top of the third pitch. Large bigbros will do nothing for you; it's too wide. In fact it's too wide to feel securely wedged in there. Be ready for a hundred foot runout. There is a single bolt at the top of the route that you c... more >>

Comments: i would recommend bringing xtra runners. i thought i had enough and wound up with heinous drag on the crux pitch.
and i agree, the direct overhanging finish is way cool!

Comments: I remember a standard desert rack with extra thin finger pieces, extra 1.5" pieces, and one old style 5 camalot. I went back and added a bolt at a poorly protected spot so now there are two. It's 165' and the rating is probably .12-. Also this was some years ago and my memory is not all that trustworthy.

Comments: This place is awesome. in my opinion, the best thing that could happen is nothing. The way things are now, it won't be overun with climbers. and noone else will be up there. it's perfect.
Have fun at Queen Creek!

Comments: Climbed this yesterday. I left the guidebook in the parking lot and accidently climbed the original start in one long 65 meter pitch. I thought this route was stellar. A little spicy and really fun.
