Location: AZ : Northern Arizona : Navajolands : Monument Valley By: Paul-B When: Nov 11, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: I am considering a trip through here in early spring. Climbing is illegal? Is there anyway around this? Is this strictly enforced? Are landowners amenable to being contacted and asking for permission? Or should I not even try?

Location: CO : Boulder : Boulder Canyon : The Bihedral Area : The Bihedral (Upper Tier) : Where's Ray? (5.8) By: Paul-B When: Aug 24, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: Warning! There is a rather large wasp's nest waiting for you shortly after the first clip. Move on to the face, get a move in, and bam, they are swirling around you angrily. Got stung 3 times, luckily its a fairly easy section, scrambled quickly past it, swatting with one hand. Definitely makes the 5.8 a bit more interesting, maybe not worth it though.

If we have a decent winter, it seems like it might be a fun afternoon, right outside of town. Are there any other nearby ski routes in the Flatirons?

Location: CO : Boulder : Boulder Canyon : The Watermark : Minas Tireth (5.10a) By: Paul-B When: Aug 11, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: Fun route, but it really seemed to be a one (2?) move wonder. The roof is sequency and challenging, if you use the holds on the left face. I thought it was 10a, unfortunately, the rest of the climb is an easy 8 or less.

Location: CO : Boulder : Boulder Canyon : Avalon : Second Tier : ... : The Magician (5.9) By: Paul-B When: Jul 11, 2012 | view comment >> | Comments: It definitely dirt, a lot of lichen up top, but still a fun route. I did the 9 and 10 start. I would call the 10 start a 10-, it didn't seem much harder than the 9 start, and before you know it you're back on the same route. I did like fact that it is mixed, placing gear increased the fun.

Location: CO : Boulder : Boulder Canyon : Blob Rock Area : East Blob : ... : The Young and the Rackless (5.9) By: Paul-B When: Sep 19, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: Climbed this route today...fun route, not sure about 5.9, maybe the 3rd pitch was 5.9, the rest was more 5.8ish. On a separate note, it appears that someone took my rope bag from the base of the climb while I was out (I am hoping by mistake?). If you have it, please message me. It's possible I missed it, it was getting quite dark by the time we got back. If you find a dark green Metolious bag, let me know!
