It's a lot of fun, even though the flake is so short--you get two or three cool moves and then you're back on the same old face climb. I soloed it with a grigi on a fixed line--totally doable because of the ease of the climbing, but you definitely don't want to fall off the first couple of moves on the flake because you'll swing straight into the ground. of course it's sand so you'd be alright, but still...

Location: CA : Los Angeles County : Stoney Point : Mozart's Wall By: Nick Mudd When: Feb 25, 2013 | view comment >> | Comments: Be very wary of the two new looking bolts with fixe hangers above the right side of Mozart's. Although they appear to be only a few years old, both hangers spin freely and one of the actual bolts can be wiggled around by hand both vertically and horizontally. I guess it would depend on how much slack your belayer is giving you. I was just observing that even though it's easy climbing it can be very challenging to a new leader due to the long runouts. I don't think another bolt in between would be amiss. What's the consensus on adding/replacing at this location? I'll probably be ba... more >>
