Comments: Do yourself a favor. Do this route. I have climbed at Ship for years, always opting to climb Linn Cove right next to Airlie. Climbed Airlie for the first time yesterday, and enjoyed it much more that Linn Cove. Definately a contender with Dopey Duck for best 5.9 in NC.

Location: NC : Linville Gorge : Table Rock : Second Stanza (5.8+)

Comments: Climbed White Lighting and Second Stanza back to back last weekend to see for myself. Both great routes, but for my money WL is the better of the two. SS would be better if it got a little more traffic to clean it up. Agree that crux move it at least 9+ or 10-. Clipped, pulled, hung, and then pulled thru.

Comments: With a name like Ron Rico you know he has to be slimy. Well he was. Cost me a bail biner. Crux hold covered in a slimy wet film. Dont bother. Just climb Code 3 two times instead.

Comments: Did first two pitches with my 14 year old son last Friday. Rapping over the three roofs on the double rope rappel back to top of P1 Jim Dandy ledge definately got his attention. Be careful on that rappel.

Comments: Definately like this one better than Jim Dandy. Less crowded too.

Comments: Lead all pitches of the route last weekend. First time in many years. I had forgotton just how good it is. Solid gear and great climbing. Fixed gear was still in place at the top P1. Four pieces that looked solid, along with webbing and a cord with a ring and oval. Nice to not have to build it. Pins at the end of P2 on North Ridge also looked good, if not getting a little old. If you are there and climb 5.8 do this one!
