Comments: Seems the anchor links on this one get stolen regularly. Loctite time?

Comments: At about the same time this went in, we top roped the thin crack left of Choss Whisperer, calling it "Probably go, natural pro" 5.9 (no stars) and it had much looseness. We didn't think it was worth pursuing beyond a TR burn. There is also a 'backside route' off a block that is relatively short. 5.5. Not worth doing. Only mentioned here in case someone desperately wanted to TR Choss Whisperer they could solo this line up and set up the TR.

Comments: There is a short buttress just left of Snowball. The plates look decent. Anyone already done this one? I didn't see any bolts. It abuts Snowball. I don't think it is this one... is it? www.mountainproject.com/v/unknown/106324279

Comments: What is the very short route name off to climbers' right of Prefab Sprout? TR'd it this week. Short, but fun.

Comments: Nice job Joe! I'd be hesitant to compare "modern" Yosemite ratings to Pinnacles rock quality aid ratings, since Pinnacles doesn't have a modern aid rating system. You are probably right, but no where does the axiom hold more true "It's all A1 till you fall" than at Pinnacles.

Comments: Tick Marks are not an accepted practice at CRSP without sufficient water or wiping off to remove their presence before moving to a new problem.

Comments: originally rated 5.10+ I believe in the Jensen guidebook. Fun problem. Arechiga showed me the extension one day. The extension is contrived to keep the big feet off but it does add pump and spice.

Location: CA : Sierra Eastside : Whitney/Lone Pine Area : Alabama Hills : The Penguins : Tuxedo Junction (5.7) By: munge When: Nov 29, 2009 | view comment >> |
Comments: TR'd this today. Climbs better than it looks. I took a direct line on TR. The first move of which is loose, but from there the direct is on good rock. probably 5.9ish move? Descent is made from Mussy hooks or it's also possible to down climb a crack on the east face at very easy 5th class (also an easy way to set up a TR on this and "who says I'm not".

Comments: Solid rock. The 5.7 stays on the features on the right, I think, or straight up?? Belayer can be in sun in the morning even though the route is north facing.

Comments: Wanted to get some input first and then got sick that weekend too. :( Given how old of an area Ahills are, it's possible it's been sent before just no one bothered to report it. There are more possibilities in that area too. The crack left of the where I started Escuche would really be the direct line, or could have a finish slightly left of where I finished.

Comments: this is a cool TR problem. rope drag used to be a PIA so may want to use extendo slings to set it up. we originally tried TRing this thing in the mid 90s (i think), and it may have been TR'd before that. I couldn't pull it without a hang, but got the move during that session. nice job guys!

Comments: In between Grant's solo and Grant's solo OW, I solo'd a line this weekend 4/8/07. It starts on Grant's solo start moves, but then traverses right on the easiest terrain, and moves up and right into the darkest patch of moss and more or less straight up from there. New? old? Too bad there are no anchors over on that side of the wall.

Comments: Is there a real issue out there? No beta on the web available for what real issue is. Feel free to email me directly. Two active Beehives as of 4/8/07, one on small dome's south face that is in front of Tiny Bubbles (The Beach). The other is on the approach trail to The Beach, but can be skirted by going left and around the hive.
