Comments: Love the line. There are indeed some loose and some hollow-sounding sections. No doubt it would take gear on lead, but not mine.... It's so quick and easy to set up your TR. I run laps here on my MiniTrax, after-work and with "squeezed for time" kinda days all the time...quick & easy to setup. I think some jackass stopped and soaked most the start with a pissing session...it was pretty rank as hell smelling when I was there the other night, I tried washing the rock with what water I had.

Comments: I went out last night and set-up shop...maybe with a little different variation than what you have in your beta picture for Poop Deck, but close. I used your pic. to show my line and also where I set my TR. There is a large horn of rock (upper right, circled in blue) that you can sling (long slings or hitch it with cord) and plenty of options to back it up...this let me suspend my anchor over the lip to avoid rope drag. Fun indeed and I would agree on the .10+. That sexy jug... more >>

Comments: I hopped on this while waiting for Mighty Mouse, thinking it would probably suck...but it's not too bad of a route and actually pretty sustained for the grade. Some small loose stuff up on the ledge at the anchors to watch out for.

Comments: Junk and not worth the time. It's a scramble up and onto the ledge.... Lots of loose rock on the ledge.... Mank ass home-made hangers.... Suspect right anchor.... Loose Flake is still there.

Comments: Pretty certain it's not Colorado's "only" range to run East-West. Elkhead Mountain Range in Northwestern Colorado outside of Craig & Steamboat just South of the Wyoming state line. The Elkhead Mountains are made of old volcanic rocks 17-25 million years old. One thing unusual is that the Elkhead Mountains run west to east as opposed to north and south as most of the ranges run in North America. It is impossible to describe the general forms of the peaks because they are all so different, ... more >>

Location: CO : Morrison/Evergreen : The Urban Alpine Crag : K2 (Kerry Kells Route) (5.7) By: MountainManny When: Jan 24, 2013 | view comment >> |
Comments: Pretty straightforward.... The slung cable is solid and has two quick-links attached. Very easy to attach your own gear by simply sliding the links over to yourself on the ledge you hiked to above. The hike up and around isn't too bad, a little slick if moisture/snow exists, but it takes like 2 minutes. The walk down is worse than it is up...rap it back to the deck. This climb and Roach Clip have the best belays at the crag. The 5.7~ish seemed correct for K2...I would say that the route to... more >>

Comments: There are anchors and quicklinks just below the tree. If you anchor off the tree or use the gear, you will still need a 60m to lower all the way. Anyone missing a folding pocketknife? Found just above the anchors for this climb.
