Comments: Like the man says...great stemming and nicely bolted. Or try it with wires and small gear.

Comments: Like the man says...easy lead up 2 cracks to a fun and committing boulder problem, with great pro. 2 purple camalots slide in nicely in the roof crack. You can place gear above the roof, but those cracks are better for hand holds. No pro after the roof, but it's a mellow scamp up the chains.

Comments: The roof is well protected and the falls are great. It's very blocky and positive, but can be tricky to figure out. I flailed for awhile, getting pumped, before going for a ride. Once you unlock the moves, it's easy to go back and send.

The book I have shows the 1st bolt down low, but it's quite high. I followed the chalked holds off right, or you could try left of the bolts. Straight up the bolt line seems improbable, or at least harder than 10b/c.

Comments: This climb is the second bolted climb to the right of #8. The huge spray painted #8 bullseye is a few feet to the left of the route #8. I followed the bolt line straight up, for the most part, straying left at the end, before coming back right to finish up at the top. Lots of slopers but decent places to clip. Fun and committing move on the thin seam at the top.

There's a new(er) bolted climb to the right of this. Some books call Thanks for mams #16, and #17 is a ... more >>

Comments: We just climbed at The Grotto and camped at Lake Tulloch campground. It's a developed site for RVs but also has tent spots. It is great. All sites have at least a picnic table and firepit, and some have grills, shade structures, water spigots and even power at some. We camped right along the water and the place was empty. We swam in the lake the next day, as I'm sure many people do when it's blazing hot out there. The sites are close together, so it's probably not great when crowded, but it was ... more >>

Comments: I don't remember a hanging belay, or any misery. It's kinda of slabby and I think you can just sorta lean/sit. A fun climb, thin on the face. Oh, and hard.
