Comments: This morning, danger blocks from P4 of Yellow Spur and P1 of Psycho Pigeon were sent groundward. Two members of ACE climbed and trundled, and three volunteers from BCC and JHMG closed the trail.

Comments: This route is currently being re-equipped. At the moment, there are five bolts at the anchors. The two on the left are modern, 4.75" x 0.5" powers SS with Fixe rings and chains. The three on the right are adequate but old. Over the next few weeks, the old bolts will be removed/patched. Thanks for suffering with the aesthetic nightmare, rest assured it will be spiffy soon.

Comments: Fixed it, Matt. The online database of fixed hardware is a pretty new feature, and some of the data needs lovin'.
Not unlike much of the hardware in our beloved chosspile.

Comments: Last Fall, the park was alerted to some potential loose rock around Shirt Tail. I did a couple of inspection/mitigation trips over the winter. This is a picture of about the same spot in December 2012:
Some time in March, and again a few weeks ago, some bigger stuff slid.
It's been a tough winter/spring for freeze/thaw. Big stuff is coming down all over the place. The trail from Rincon to Cadillac is a mess, the Wind Tower trail got smacked, and I think there's more to come. H... more >>

Comments: In addition to being one gnarly individual and about the nicest guy you'd ever meet, Billy is responsible for a LOT of the trail work in Eldo. Every time I'm looking at a trail disaster, I think WWBD.
Puts a BIG smile on my face to hear that he's climbing.

Comments: Yep, it's a doozy.
I'll be up there in the next few weeks figuring out a plan for reconstruction. Between a big saw, some good tools, and the BCC trail crew, I think we can get it workable pretty quickly.

Comments: Plated 5-piece Powers with SS hangers. Will go back up there and replace the PS with SS sometime in 2013. It sounds like the PS/SS mix should have a pretty long lifetime, but I'd rather get it right sooner.
