S Crack

5.10c 6b 20 VII 20 E2 5b (1 p)

CO : Grand Junction Area : ... : Cabin Wall

Aesthetic splitter that goes through all sizes, but mostly fists and OW. Nice training route. I only had one #4, and no 5, so had to go for it. Wear pants for knee locks.

Mar 22, 2015

Unknown Finger Crack

5.11 6c+ 23 VIII- 23 E4 5c (1 p)

CO : Grand Junction Area : ... : Cabin Wall

Short and packs a punch because of it. The best rock on the wall. Features #1 tcu tips jams, so great route to train that size. Gets shade late. Need 3 #.75, 1 #.2, 3 #.3 draws to rap.

Fred and Barney's Crack

5.10+ 6b+ 21 VII+ 20 E3 5b (1 p)

Rednekk Justus

5.10+ 6b+ 21 VII+ 20 E3 5b (1 p)

CO : Grand Junction Area : ... : Cabin Wall

Aesthetic splitter, but flake to the right allows you to avoid the business. Might be 12 otherwise, so could be good training route. You're always within a body length of a good hand or foot jam.

Mar 21, 2015

Passion for Pumping aka Corner Pump Station

5.11 6c+ 23 VIII- 23 E4 5c (1 p)

CO : Grand Junction Area : ... : Cabin Wall

Typical lieback corner, if that is your thing. Hard on the toes. A hard/scary start and awkward top out.

Mar 21, 2015

Unknown Fingers

5.12- 7a+ 25 VIII+ 25 E5 6a (1 p)

CO : Grand Junction Area : ... : Cabin Wall

Good hard climbing (not too painful), but quite dirty. Very powerful lie backs pulling around roof with feet you can't trust. Sucks up #2 tcus. Another good trainer, gets shade late.

Jerk Off

5.13a 7c+ 29 IX+ 29 E6 6c (1 p)

NM : New Mexico, other Southern ... : ... : Shady Side Left

OS. Amazing effort, since totally worked, too little rest btwn burns. Underestimated tough slopey crux at B2, barely scrapped thru it. Made it to B3 rest, recovered enough to nail final dyno crux. Very proud send after epic Saturday.

Hail Mary

5.13a 7c+ 29 IX+ 29 E6 6c (1 p)

NM : New Mexico, other Southern ... : ... : Solstice Cave

OS. Not tricky, but had to go for it. Maybe hardest OS of this style. Barely stuck lip pocket as a sloper, then bounced into pocket. Great job intuiting the foot beta.

It Put's the Buff On

5.13a 7c+ 29 IX+ 29 E6 6c (1 p)

NM : New Mexico, other Southern ... : ... : Solstice Cave

OS. End of long day, a few hard moves I did great bearing down fir, otherwise just found rests and ARC'd up it. Some loose and slimey rock. Kids enjoyed watching!

Infernal Justice

5.13b 8a 29 IX+ 30 E7 6c (1 p)

NM : New Mexico, other Southern ... : ... : Solstice Cave

OS! Great effort after long hike in, was pretty wasted and un-confident. Had to down climb from crux and re-plan, nailed it though. Really had to commit to sequential moves, did great job recovering when possible, pacing. Very proud send!

Double Stout

5.13b 8a 29 IX+ 30 E7 6c (1 p)

CO : Shelf Road : The North Gym

Amazing route! Took about an hour to figure out the crux. Didn't dial the rest of it enough. Really had to battle at the top to make the send. Figure others will avoid the crux with alternate sequences.

Killer Pillar

5.10b 6a+ 19 VII- 19 E2 5b (1 p)

Oct 13, 2014

Hangman

5.12b 7b 26 VIII+ 26 E5 6b (1 p)

CO : Golden : ... : Primo Wall

Would be a decent warm up. Tricky, techy start, then a lot on your arms on mostly good holds. Long reaches. Sound get sun early.

City Slickers

5.12a 7a+ 25 VIII+ 25 E5 6a (1 p)

Primeval

5.13+ 8b 30 X- 31 E7 7a (1 p)

CO : Golden : ... : Primo Wall

Commanding line, great rock, wild moves. What more could you ask for? I would like to seal off the lip so the water doesn't run down it.

Moving Out

5.12b 7b 26 VIII+ 26 E5 6b (1 p)

CO : Golden : ... : Primo Wall

Decent route, ok as 2nd/3rf warm up. Powerful, crimpy lie back moves at start, then committing move left into dihedral.

Relative To Standing

5.11- 6c 22 VIII+ 22 E3 5c (1 p)

Breakfast Club

5.12a 7a+ 25 VIII+ 25 E5 6a (1 p)

CO : Golden : ... : Primo Wall

Insecure and not terribly pleasant climbing, but it its a longer warmup option. Seems much harder than 12a, but what do I know? Classic arete climbing at top, but desperate.

A Steep Climb Named Desire

5.13d 8b 31 X 32 E8 7a (1 p)

CA : Tahoe Vicinity : ... : Star Wall

HD. Did dyno a couple times, but seemed too daunting to try to send. Many hard, thrutchy moves getting to it. Pretty easy after that, with good rest over roof.

Pump Lust

5.13b 8a 29 IX+ 30 E7 6c (1 p)

CA : Tahoe Vicinity : ... : Snowshed Wall

Not as enjoyable as Cannibals...a bit thrutchy and insecure. Pretty distinct crux after leaving the initial dihedral..bear hugging opposing offsets. Then, sustained crack climbing on flaring jams.

Sep 24, 2013

Bronco

5.12d 7c 28 IX 28 E6 6b (1 p)

CA : Tahoe Vicinity : ... : Star Wall

OS. Was wet up in the roof, but holds are big. Fun'tour' climb that takes a visionary line with fun moves. The headwall is not easy.

Warp Factor

5.13a 7c+ 29 IX+ 29 E6 6c (1 p)

RP second try. Great for a granite sport climb, but short. Nice crisp edges, but the horizontal is slippery and nasty.

Slim Pickens

5.12c 7b+ 27 IX- 27 E6 6b (1 p)

CA : Tahoe Vicinity : ... : Star Wall

OS. Better than cookie, skips awkward crack moves in the dihedral and replaces with a cool boulder problem and better crack climbing. Great warmup.

Panic in Detroit

5.12b/c 7b+ 27 IX- 27 E6 6b (1 p)

CA : Tahoe Vicinity : ... : Snowshed Wall

OS. Really struggled with the gear, but the moves weren't super hard. Thought Brain Cell was much harder. It I'd more sustained though and gear placement adds to fatigue. Probably a revolutionary climb in it's day, but compared to modern sport climbs, not

Cannibals

5.12d 7c 28 IX 28 E6 6b (1 p)
