Comments: ^^ Regarding the post above about the gear before the bolt, I was able to find plenty of gear to safely protect the climbing before 1st bolt. The moves off of the ramp are chossy but it is all there and gear can be had if you look around. After clipping the bolt, I back cleaned my gear easily. At the last bolt, step left and head straight up. I was able to find smaller gear to protect the moves onto the ledge before the belay tree. The tree has webbing and you can easily setup a TR after leading... more >>

Comments: Great pic! It looks like there is a climber on the crux of Pervertical and a party at the end of the OW on Pervertical. Getting all antsy for summertime!

Comments: Moderators of MP land...can I get this route moved? There is a Black Canyon National Park area, and that is where this route belongs.

My bad, when I submitted this route the Blue Mesa area was the only area, but this is not part of Blue Mesa and rather in the national park proper.

Thanks much!

Comments: You should take a look at the graph again. Fixed gear failure is not the 2nd highest cause of an accident.

Comments: What are you talking about that screw won't hold? Obviously you doubt Clay and you shouldn't doubt Clay. He is a wizard who has never zippered a screw.

Clayton - looks proud, come climb scary routes with muah in Eldo ;)

Comments: I agree with Ken that this route is easier than Tagger and Psychosis. This is mid-5.10 if Tagger is 10c and Psychosis is 10d/11a. Tagger is awkward and slightly committing. Art's Spar has overhead pro through the crux, and the moves are very straightforward.

Also, the new BD #4 (which is more like a 3.5) fits perfectly in the beginning of the roof crack. A good route, but not super classic.

Comments: Paul, your first pitch is the way I usually take when soloing. I have soloed first pitch before, and it gets your blood going pulling on dirty loose flakes! Definitely one of the better solos in the area for a moderate outing (probably soloed it a dozen times in college and 5-10 times since then). Many opportunities for adventure on this piece of rock.

Comments: You can really see how windy it was in this photo. I thought I was going to fall both directions at that point. Great climb and I must go back with better weather (and a jacket!).
