Comments: For the roof, I used a WC Zero 6, which is probably a mastercam 1.

Comments: I grew up just south of here, but only started climbing after I left. It's been nice climbing here, but it is the first area that I've ever climbed in which I won't take off my helmet unless I'm climbing. There are lots of little spots of loose rock, and I think some fell on each route I climbed.

Also, I happened to have a 50' piece of static line in the car & I tied it to the anchor at the top of the approach. Totally not necessary, but it saved a few minutes, especially w a new climber in the... more >>

Comments: I didn't need anything bigger than a #2 camalot for this route.

Comments: Not 120', more like 100'-105'--we climbed this with a 60m rope and had about 6' or so to spare after lowering.

Agree with Mark above, though. I really felt it should've probably ended at the final bolt--though the view wouldn't be quite as nice.

Comments: This is a fun route but heady for us non-slabbers. The feet are there, and if you can't find hands, it's probably time to mantle.

Comments: Moving past the 3rd bolt is definitely the crux. There is a crimp out right for the right hand, and then step up to find a perfectly placed flat with the left hand, after which going for the bolts is pretty straightforward.

The anchors are loose but not scarily so.

Comments: This is a fun, but odd, route. The holds are all there, but sometimes you have to look a bit. Hanging the draw on the 3rd anchor requires a bit of though. I second the stick clip suggestion.

Comments: The first route to the immediate right is Dream of a Bee (5.8). The slab climb further right is Cordelia (5.8).

Wadcutter is a heady lead for a 5.9.

Comments: I would only call this stiff for the grade for Muir. IMHO, its stiffer than the other 5.9s at Muir, but its a nice climb with a lot of good balance moves.

Comments: I agree with Rob--excellent first lead. Climber always has great feet or great hands or both. A little circuitous, though.

Comments: Nice moderate route. Good for kids & people like me who are still getting better. After top roping it once, we pulled the rope & my 10 y.o. son used it as his first lead.
