I generally climb harder than listed here, but haven't been doing much in recent years. Am fit and think I'd add a decimal point to the trad free ratings after a couple of days of climbing. After that, who knows? As for the aid ratings: I'm slow, and that's more to the point. Trying to get faster so I can get up El Cap with only one haul bag. Why does this site give only 10 El Cap routes? Pitiful. Never Never Land is calling me, and it's not listed, so I can't add it as a To-Do.
The climbs listed here are not recent -- quite the contrary. They're here to give you an idea of the kind of climbing I enjoy. The dates are NOT correct because I never recorded the dates of the climbs I did, only checked them off in the guidebooks w/ occasional scribbled comment.
Areas I've climbed in: Yosemite, Eldorado, Boulder Canyon, Chamonix, Needles (South Dakota), 11-mile canyon, Joshua Tree, Tahquitz, Suicide, Tetons, Smith Rocks, Garden of the Gods, Zion, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Vedauwoo, RMNP, Turkey Rock, Beacon Rock, some for a few hours only or only a route or two. Except Smith Rocks, which I detested, they were all memorable. |
