Comments: Not to worry, Pete! I would never do such a thing :) I am very particular to where I place a hook; only in empty pin holes and in flared pin scars and do not hook any of the free holds.

Comments: I had just aided the route. I hooked a couple of times; on the traverse and again on the crux but aided on nuts and cams and existing pins through the smooth sections. This is an excellent training route for some solid aid climbing and presents interesting and fun placements for hooks, cams, and chocks!

Comments: Lee Rittenmeyer and I ascended Directissma on the 3rd of October 2011. What a true test of ones ability and endurance! The entire route is exposed and classic! A true adventure climb in every way possible, make sure you are prepared (Micro nuts to #6 C4s provided some bomber pro). I read somewhere that this line was one of Layton's favorites in the Pikes Peak area and I can see why!! We worked for every inch on this one!! Classic!!
