My greatest climbing attribute is my ability to make even the easiest routes look extremely hard.
I also possess the characteristic of having wildly different climbing ability on any given day.
Trad and moderate are two of my favorite words. I will sport climb when cornered, but I might bare my fangs. I love being outdoors and in the mountains, and I really like to combine backpacking trips with cragging or alpine climbs. I have 35 years of outdoor experience to draw on. Age is starting to slow me a little but I still rarely get passed in the mountains.
Being safe is very important to me. Bottom line, safety is being prepared for the unknown and competent in the known. No complacency allowed.
