Comments: Mike,

Why don't you go ahead and add the route left of CC to the route database? Just call it "unknown to the left of CC" or something like that.

Look forward to seeing more lines added to this great face!

Comments: I found the second .10a crux was just before the 4th (last) bolt. Harder than the start for me. But as Jeff knows I have a bit of an Ape index going on!

Comments: Not for the new .9 leader. Slick start, lousy pro for 20+', a few heady moves later... better TR.

Comments: Directions from BV. Take County Road 371 (Colorado road) North for a few miles. Make a right onto CR-375 just before the tunnels, go up the hill via a couple switchbacks, pass the Turtle Rock area (primitive camping) on the left and CR-376 on the right. You will soon come to Split rocks which has formations on both sides of the road. Park here then head North past Split rocks for ~ a 10 minute bushwack/walk to Transmitter Tower (see beta photo).

Comments: Kick the VIC.

With new mgmt it has turned into a dump. Complaints of no housekeeping, no/or bad health hot tub, smoking in non-smoking rooms, loud noises all night and the breakfast is lacking coffee and many other complaints!

Please bogart this establishment in favour of others, like the Ouray Chalet etc.

Comments: Yeah,

Well, re: the late exit 'policy'. This is the MOST restrictive of any public land. I got a ticket 2 days ago for $125, are you kidding me?

And we were less than 2 hours late, due to a rope stuck, rappel issue.

These are 'our lands' and we should have full access for foot travel in/out, just like the wild animals.

THIS IS JUST WRONG!

Comments: I climbed at "The Point" near Powderhorn over the weekend and am looking for some beta. There is a new route on the east end of the south face that climbs a roof (1st route you come to). Anyone know what the rating is? I thought it was .10a but it felt way harder!

I was sorry to see that this little Crag was left out of Leo's book (which I own) but can understand that he was busy getting the damn thing published. Thanks Leo for a job well done!

-Lee

Comments: Mike,

I looked at it but ran out of time and energy since I wanted to take my buddy from NYC up to the Arch. It looks pretty stout and thin! Best bet may be to try it on TR 1st...Would require a couple of long TR anchors.

Yeah it's a nice little crag. There is lots of loose/flakey rock but it should clean up well after they are climbed a bit. Looks to be a couple more easier crack lines on the far right and far left.

Comments: Going left is offroute onto a no name .10+. The route ascends the twin cracks at the 1st bolt bulge then stays in the bolt line to the top. Agree it is a bit cruxy but it's all there....

Comments: If you cheat and go left at the crux, it's only 5.8.
