Comments: Gatch, the route is indeed stellar. This route is all bolts if you stop where the angle breaks above the hard climbing onto the lower angled upper section. This is how most people climb it these days. Enjoy.

Comments: Drew, Noah, Yowsa! Congrats on your adventure!!!!! This route does indeed require all of your climbing skills. In my opinion, this is the hardest, most continuous multi-pitch route in the South Platte. To my knowledge, your ascent is only the third time this has been climbed. I hope more folks will jump this route soon. A real time, full tilt adventure awaits anyone that does. Congrats again - you two are in a small club. Hats off to you, guys.

Comments: While borrowing a friend's drill.... It came unclipped at a very inopportune time. It crashed onto the base of the wall suffering damage. Almost taking out my belayer!! The repairs weren't too brutal, but they gave cause for the route name.

Comments: The hold in these pictures is without ANY DOUBT chiseled/ enhanced /manufactured. I took the pics. The first one was - with chalk, the second was after I washed it with a splash of water. The drill marks are clearly visible in both. They say a picture is worth a thousand words ... I think these pictures speak plainly enough.

Comments: Blake, very cool of you to clean the finger section. This route IS rad as you said. Great stuff down low followed by the really steep upper section. Hopefully more folks will jump this route and give some feedback.

Comments: To all, here are the facts as I know them..... Every single person who has ever been on Starlight (to my knowledge) has said the route is a four star classic. Bar none. That being the case - I believe the route stands on its own merit. As is, no question. 'Nuff said. Enjoy!

Comments: Very cool shot of the Shadow. Before the Hayman fire, this route looked different- the Shadow was from a full and HEALTHY pine not like the ghastly-ghostly one shown here.

Comments: This area is called "Sleeping Rock" Named so , obviously for the little fellow snoozing just off of the trail on the way to the boulders . Many toprope anchors are found here. Lots of good problems as well . We used to hold a community camp out/ party/bouldering get together at this spot . A great place to get the locals together . The Springs has a good group of folks within .
