Comments: Climbed there the weekend of 8/3/13. No problems at all with local shenanigans as mentioned above. In fact it was quiet---REALLY quiet! Great camping, no one bothered us. We basically had the whole place to ourselves Fri and Sat. Fun, compact climbing area, very easy to get a lot in. Routes are shorter but still enjoyable. Like a mix between Maple and Shelf (area-wise, at least.) Great place!

Comments: I'd be curious to hear if lots of stuff has broken on this climb. I did it on Friday and it felt epic-hard! I was definitely tired, but usually can get up low 11s with relative ease. To me this verged on 12-territory.....

Comments: This is an incredible climb! I'm not sure if it just suited me and my partner's climbing styles, but we both agreed it is definitely in the top 3 sport climbs either of us has ever done. Long, flowy, sustained, techy and super-exposed feeling. All the holds are just good enough. Would be a tricky onsight. WOW!!!

Comments: Agreed. The whole route is quite difficult and funky. I thought it was more along the lines of 11c/d.

Comments: Is there a new route between this one and Dude's Dihedral that's not listed? I got on this thinking it was the 11b (Mofo Party Plan thing) and had a heck of a time. Whoops! BIG reaches, pretty height-dependent. I had a really hard time at the bottom balancy mantle, then pulling the final roof/headwall. Agree with the other comments...pretty solid 11d I would say.

Comments: I'm not in the greatest climbing shape at the moment, but this felt pretty hard for 11b. Very sustained. Maybe I wasn't reading some of moves right, but it felt tricky for sure.

Comments: The bolt just above the cruxy bulge (about halfway up the route) could probably be replaced. It looks like the rock around it is eroding, especially on the top. I don't necessarily think it's dire or going to pull out any time soon, but just as an FYI if anyone is looking to do some community service in CCC...probably couldn't hurt!

Comments: Just my opinion, but I would highly advise NOT doing a double rap from the very top (down to the 2nd pitch anchors, if I remember correctly.) I've gotten my ropes stuck doing this rap 2 different times now. If I were to do it again I'd do a single rap down to the 3rd pitch anchors---where you belay for the 'sport pitch' going to the top---and then go from there. Kind of annoying since it's a short rap, but it might save you a lot of time and energy from having to climb back up to untangle your r... more >>

Comments: This route felt haaard. 11b for me. A lot more OW (and squeeze chimney!) than I was expecting. Getting over the roof is tough for those with smaller hands and who can't really reach the foothold out and right of the roof. I basically aided the thing. Above the roof is some pretty hollow, loose rock, and heady climbing to the squeeze chimney right at the top (which I liebacked, by the way!) Interesting route.....not sure I'd do it again, but it does have some good climbing, especially on the lowe... more >>

Comments: Just my personal opinion, but this job would be great for a couple or two really close friends. You're gone a long time and there are many...distractions along the way. Good luck to whoever gets it in 2013, it'll be a once in a lifetime opportunity for sure!!!

Comments: Maybe it's because I'm completely out of climbing shape (!), but everything I got on at this wall felt pretty stiff for the grade. But who knows, maybe I wasn't what I thought I was on! Reminded me a lot of some walls in Boulder Canyon. Cool little spot if you're in the area, gets nice afternoon shade too.

Comments: Is this the furthest climb on the right hand side of the wall (4 bolts and anchors, I believe)? Some locals we talked to said this used to be a 5.9 or so, but a hold broke near the top and so getting from the 3rd to 4th bolt is significantly harder now. I agree. The beginning is easy, but the last 10 feet of that route felt more like an 11- (at least) to me!! Weird fingercrack seam and smeary feet. Pumpy too.

Comments: Perception will govern over reality about 9 times out of 10, unfortunately. I agree with the above posters about trying to clean the draws up some. I think you would be 90% of the way there just by changing the runners out to more neutral colors.

As a local, I really appreciate the dialogue and efforts by Mike and Brian. Clear Creek is our backyard, and we should try and make it as pretty as we possibly can ;) Thanks again.

Comments: Does anyone know if the plethora of multi-colored slings hanging all over this wall are fixed? Or will they come down once projects are sent? I've been cringing every time I drive by that wall lately as they are clearly visible from the road (and from space, perhaps?) Eeeek! Just curious....
