Comments: Can someone give me any detailed info on the "walk off"??? I was hoping to go up this weekend and ascend the chimney mentioned above to set up a top rope on Spiral. Is this possible? I really want to climb at Vail this weekend, but I just started leading and I'm not comfortable leading WI4 yet. Thanks.

Comments: Haha, that video is sweet Jonny V. I ran up this without a rope today to put an anchor on the Left Flow, and it was awesome! A little bit thinner than in the pics, so if you're going to climb this without a rope, be ready for the last part, because it can steepen out on you and there's sort of just rocks at the top sometimes apparently.

Comments: The top of this route has some very dangerous loose rocks on it. We traversed left on the ledge to the 11a anchors for a quick rap down just to the left of the crack. I put a nut in to lower my girlfriend onto the anchors to make it a little easier for her, and the rope got behind one of the 100 plus pound rocks and pulled it off the ledge. Very scary. There are still loose rocks on the ledge. This route has definitely not seen much traffic and is not really worth climbing in my opinion, because... more >>

Comments: Really enjoyed this climb. I felt like this was a pretty solid 5.7. It had a couple of pretty committing moves and the gear was a little weird. I only clipped the one bolt in the middle, but my partner clipped another one at the top when he led it. I actually didn't use a #3 or a #4 at all even though I brought two 3s and a 4 with me on the climb.

Comments: Just climbed this route. It was pretty fun. I think solid for the grade. I'm a new 5.9 leader, and I got this climb with two takes and no falls. All the talk of 70 meter ropes not getting you to the ground scared me a little, but I used a 70 meter Mammut Tusk 9.8 double dry rope fresh out of the bag, and made it all the way down on rappel with no problems. I would say this climb is a must-do for the area.
