Comments: So Palisade has already had a fair share of climbing this season, and just as the climbing season has come early: the Peregrine Falcons are nesting early. Yesterday, a friend and I climbed Stars and Tripes Forever (near Laceration Jam) and found ourselves in the midst of the falcons, leading us to believe they are nesting near the site. We have informed the park and they agree that they may be nesting there.

I imagine there will be signs up soon, but I encourage anyone climbing at Palisade to ... more >>

Comments: Wonderful climb, harder that it looks from the bottom.

Description from Superior Climbs:
A crack climbing smorgasbord: body, hands and fingers. This is a very long pitch featuring exposed and sustained climbing up good flakes and corners. Highlights include sharp hand jams and encounters with rock tripe.

-while we didn't experience a whole lot of tripe today, the rest is very accurate. IMO its more on the 5.10B-D range. Strong lead.

Also, saw some Peregrines very, very near so they may be n... more >>

Comments: Led this today for the first time, pretty fun warm up with solid pro. Doesn't look like it gets climbed much though.

Description from Superior Climbs:
An excellent little corner about 50 ft right of the gully consisting of moderate crackwork on sound rock. The only detraction here is the steep loose slope above the climb; shifting top rope anchors or scrambling feet an send a shower of loose gravel onto anyone below.

Comments: So I lead the climb farthest left in the really crumbly/breaking rock area (not a big fan) and I was given the impression by some other climbers that it was newly bolted since last year (2011). Anyone have any information on it? Some of the bolts on it did not look very new, but the top were in very good condition. The route starts far left, (just left of jar of flies) and trails up just left to jar of flies and then goes left at a small "arete" where it ends. You could set up a top rope for it ... more >>

Comments: Awesome climb! Best one of the evening. Was out yesterday and this route was very dry and wonderful. Didn't have to worry about about any falling debris like on routes to the left of this one.

Comments: Checked Willow out this afternoon. Rock felt great, just worked beginning moves in the evening. It looked very dry up to the anchors, but I imagine some of its slick. Hoping to get back out on Tuesday with ropes. Gorgeous, but there's still some ice on the far end near the falls.

Comments: perfect first pitch, beautifully smooth crack with a few larger areas. The last two pitches actually felt more difficult to me, probably was the mindset.

Comments: Thought this was a really fun route, great for V1-V2 climbers. Will hit this again. Also the wind really likes to blow in this area in the winter
