Comments: I'll agree with Adam: this is the kind of archetypal face climb that pops into my mind when i think of "rock climbing" in the broad sense of the word(s). Beautiful line. Must do.

Comments: Don't know if you need to mantle on the crux. I think I found a way to balance fingers on the vertical edge above keeping body tension tight and the left leg flagged, standing up is not too hard, just be sure to remember where to stick that left foot once you're up as looking down afterward is not easy.

Comments: If it weren't for the opening and closing ledges, this would be pretty epic: the movement through the middle is a blast (though short-lived).

Comments: Cool route, more physical and not so technical. Also, tying knots in the end of the rope is a good habit to get into. Every time. Every route. If you're going to get injured, do it whilst climbing, not lowering.

Comments: This is a perfect place to take newbies. One recommendation; consider setting top rope anchors instead of leading this route (5.7+) until it has seen some more traffic. On Saturday, I almost took a lead fall about 5 feet from the anchors/10 feet from the last bolt after pulling off a rather large hand hold. Cool routes though! Thanks Mike, and it was nice to meet you on Sunday (I was the guy with the yellow hat that you were talking about the death blade with)..

Comments: Great warm up with beautiful exposure. Don't make the same mistake I did and only take 11 draws (I should really consider looking at the routes before I climb them).

Comments: I'm 5'8" and had to stretch pretty darn hard to reach the onsight (the key hold is an optical illusion in that it doesn't look like anything from below). After you gain the positive edge, it's just a high step and a hard pull to the easy stuff on the headwall above. This climb receives no fun points from me. Not worth doing IMO unless you are tall and trying to add an eleven to your tick list; it is an annoying 10+/11- move with ledge fall potential in the midst of a dull 5.7 face. ... more >>
