Comments: Looks very Indexical.
I hope there are some footholds down there somewhere.

So, why does the dragon cry?

Comments: But if this is the route to set up the TR, then doesn't it take protection?

What would the 5.5 leader need to bring?

Thanks -

Comments: Very nice, thanks.

Mt. Project also has an overlay tool to draw the routes and make labels. An advantage of that tool is the ability for any viewer to turn it off and see the unmarked photo.

Comments: Lucky for us, very few climbers like to explore new places.

Comments: The anchor at the top of the groove, where the big ledge is, seems much more natural for the anchor. So, I prefer the anchor where it is now.

Also, the current anchor works well for the "Anarchy and Chaos" variation, which goes left of the groove.

Comments: The yellow and red-dashed lines are pitches on the original Lookout Point Direct, which should get posted soon. (The markings are not part of the topo overlay.)

Comments: Very interesting stemming, back-stepping, arete-palming route. At the start, you can use the jugs on the arete to the left. At the top, I did not see any jug from which to clip the anchors. The anchor clip seems like a long reach.

Any similar shots showing the other walls at Index?

Comments: There was once a route of this name at Index. But it fell down and ceased to be. I hope it doesn't happen to this one too.

Comments: I've wondered about making the markings and letters with a woodburner tool. I used to play with one a lot as a kid. Colors though would be tough -- the woodburner might be good for simple signs though.

Comments: The top map, dated 2009, has the northern crags that this one (date unknown) doesn't. On the pages for the walls and crags where the two maps do overlap, why don't you give the name that the "pioneer climbers of the 80s" gave them. Both can be listed.

In general, it is very nice to read about the climbing history of these walls and routes, so the area and route descriptions are also a good place to mention the pioneers and their names for the area or route. We all appreciate a nice read.

Comments: But Geoff, I thought everyone knew that 10d was harder than 11a. We are all on the same page here...

It is a strenuous stretch over the roof. The jams look so good, but the thing leans the wrong way.

If I were an owl, I might pick that spot too. Looks like quite the cool hangout, and of course an owl would know.

Also fantastic that there are so many sub-10 routes.

I really must check this place out!

Comments: Looks steep and highly featured. There ought to be some very nice face routes on that wall.

Is there much loose stuff?
