Comments: Hi Bill.

No, this is a different pitch. Law and Order is the large left-facing dihedral just left of Black Rock. If cleaned, that would be a great pitch.

Comments: So Ben, are you going to get the FA?
(You have to clean the first pitch, or it just won't count, sorry...)

Looks like it recently had some loose rock. Pretty line though.

Comments: OK, so now you're just trying to get me confused. Well, I won't have it. It's going to be the Seattle engineer as the officially true story whether or not that's the way it really went down.

From Reginald H. Thomson's Wikipedia page:

"Reginald Heber Thomson (usually R.H. Thomson; 1856 – January 7, 1949) was a self-taught American civil engineer. He worked in Washington state, mainly in Seattle, where he became city engineer in 1892[1] and held the position for two decades. Alan J. ... more >>

I used a number #4 to protect the top section, though maybe could do it without…will have to go back.

Comments: Jennifer -- do you have the source of the name, or an older reference to it?

I get confused looking this peak up on the Internet, as it gets listed a lot as Thompson. I don't have the Beckey guide handy, but I'll change the posted name if Beckey says so..

Thanks-

Comments: I'll have to ask the other guy. I don't recall ever doing an FA on Castle.

OK, so the other guy spoke up. It was in fact three other guys on the FA. See the updated info. I'm rather doubting though that they are going to elaborate on the description. Sorry about that.

I like hearing about this mystical boulder problem and the bit of history.

Thanks for the psych-

Comments: The reason for the division of areas is to easily accommodate the routes that will be added. The Lower Lump has a lot more routes listed in the Sky Valley guidebook, with only a few of them here.

I had thought that the routes would get added a little more quickly. But eventually, MP should catch up to and surpass the number of LL routes in the Sky Valley guide. (And it is a bit of a hassle to divide up an area after it has a lot of routes.)

The division is roughly the same as that in the gui... more >>

Presumably, there are anchors to mark the top, but it looks like you forgot to mention them.

Comments: That sounds like a good description of the route. Perhaps though it is more a complementary route to Battered Sandwich, seeing as it faces the other way.

For the 5.7 climbers who crave more routes and 5.8-9 climbers seeking more warm-ups, it would be worth it to clean.
