Comments: Yes, the main area pages would help. Call it the "One-line description", "Abbreviated route description" or something maybe?

If I can stop being so lazy, I could try to get the system going at Index, and see if others pick it up.

Comments: Oh, I finally figured out the symbols "F(5b)", "M" etc. Nice system, I hope others start using it more.

Comments: Hi Kerwin,

Tom (Hummerchine) has rapped in from the top. His comments are just above. Ask him -- I'm sure he would give you detailed beta.

Comments: I think the added contrast (and whatever other processing was done) turns the photo into artwork. Viewed that way, it looks great.

Comments: Thanks Blake.
You might not have been first, but I'm sure you had the best style. Just wait though, and it might get a barefoot ascent...

The Index 11+ does cover quite a bit of territory (terrortory?), so I could imagine it slipping into that grade. And with the reliance on slopers, it could be pretty temperature-sensitive.

At 5.8", I could just barely put my left foot down on a ramp-like feature at the start, which helps I think. But the small proto-knobs up higher might be better for the... more >>

Comments: Thanks, Toby.

I just moved the photo to Blues main page. If you really want it deleted, I can do that for you. But it is a nice picture of the route. Have you done this one? Looks really hard.

Comments: Alright Doug, great job!

I'll give it a try next time I'm over there. I don't know of anyone who had led that, and the first time I even heard of a TR of the upper part was upon reading Ryan's comment on the regular Phone Calls page.

Nice to have places to climb in winter. Wonderful spot.

Comments: The crack above the crux is really nice thin hands and fingers. If you can't do the crux, aid past it and enjoy the rest. And as Eric said, it is pretty stiff, even for an Index 11d. Definitely harder than Solitude, and some call that a 12.
