Comments: The Fang is in the wildest condition I have ever seen it. It is likely 4+ or 5+ but very technical. Ice florets all the way up to "summit curtain". Yep, there is a curtain of ice hanging down instead of the standard steep pillar. There are several ways to climb it including "chimneying" up and right and pulling a small overhang or going left and pulling a larger more pumpy 5+ curtain.

Go now because it will not last long.

Comments: March 15, 2008 the Tentacle barely touched down. As my partner and I were doing the Fang a Colorado Springs boy was giving the Tentacle a go....and BAM....the pillar broke off about 15 feet up. It was about 2 1/2 feet in diameter where it broke.

Be careful...it is that time of the season.

Comments: 4-28-07 Vanquished was just a rock climb. This was also true of all the mixed routes in the "Sky Pond" area.

Comments: Phil Broscovak is right on the money. He failed to mention your "slackline" episode in Arches which resulted in a similar admonishment from the BLM...! You knew better and still chose to disgracefully promote and market yourself.

Dean you are too good of a climber and too conscientious to sell your soul for self promotion.

I for one will not buy any Patagonia product until an apology is provided the trade journals and appropriate newspapers.

Hows that for action..?

Location: CO : CO Ice & Mixed : Moffatt Tunnel
By: john parsons When: Dec 23, 2005

Comments: Moffat Tunnel is close to Boulder but not really worth the trip in my opinion. First the south side routes (2 at WI3/4) were melting out after several REALLY COLD days. Secondly, the north side routes (2 at WI3/4) are short and barely worth the postholing slog up to climb them. If you want to snowshoe or cross country ski and climb then Moffat is a good choice. However, Chinook winds up there will let you feel winter even on warm days....!!

Woodrow, my dog, and I went up on 12-22-05.

Comments: Lincoln Falls is in good condition...with some thin topoputs. Recent snowfall makes the approach a little "postholey".....but....big fun. (JP)

The three main WI3-4 falls are in but the ice is brittle especially pulling onto bulges above the short vertical WI4 sections. The WI5 pillars (on the right side) are not in and do not look likely to be in this year based on current snow conditions.
