Comments: For those that missed it, (I pretended I was listing to a vendor) it was very worthwhile. They can't be a more modest climber out there. Thanks to Jim for sharing. Also a big thanks to the crew over at frontrangebouldering.com and JVond.

Renowned climber is praised on fatal cliff-top

By Anne Lucey
Wednesday July 18 2007

ROCK climber Michael Reardon pushed himself to the limit of his abilities, but ships were never meant to remain in harbours.

Tribute was paid to the fearless way the solo climber lived his life, at a moving ceremony on the cliff-top overlooking his last dramatic climb on Valentia Island, Co Kerry yesterday.

Up to 150 people gathered in sunshine to pay their respects to ... more >>

Comments: Jim,

More details about the route are posted on the Cascade climbers' site. Here's the link for you:

cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbt...

It looks like they climbed the last two pitches of your route and found some pins! Regardless whether it was this month or almost 30 years ago it looks like any route on that feature is a pretty outstanding accomplishment.

Cheers

John

Comments: I hope everyone had a great weekend ... I was on call so couldn't be more than 30 minutes from work! It sucked but one week every 6 weeks isn't too bad.

Anyhow, looking forward to Thursday night. Hopefully, we can get a good crowd together....

Comments: New Parking Lot Opens June 1

Begining June 1st, the old Twin Owls parking lot and old Gem Lake roadside parking will no longer be available for public access.

The new Lumpy Ridge parking lot is located about 1/2 mile east of the MacGregor Ranch road (still on Devil's Gulch Road - CR43). Turn north on the new access road, and go another 1/4 mile. It will be clearly signed.

The new parking lot is paved and has a nice new restroom. It will add 0.7 miles to your one way walk to The Boo... more >>

Comments: You can put a tag or a sign up but are people going to read it? And where do you stop? Do you put one up at the base of Redgarden Wall as well ... it's a very slippery slope.

Personally, I think people have to take personal responsibility and look after themselves. Accidents will happen.

Comments: Clear Creek will continue to be closed this week until Friday May 18, 2pm.

JEFFERSON COUNTY The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will need to close U.S. 6 through Clear Creek Canyon for one
additional week to complete the asphalt paving project due to adverse weather that halted operations earlier this month. Some additional work also is required to complete the project.

The closure resumes at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, May 14, with U.S. 6 closed to all traffic between State Highways... more >>
