Comments: I passed the wreckage after some of the snow had melted and remember finding a lot of York Peppermint Patties. My buddy and I were able to graze for about and hour or so.

Comments: A good route. There was quite a bit of vegitation on the lower pitches, but the upper pitches get cleaner. The crux was really enjoyable.

Comments: Don't miss the bomber hand jams near the top. They are a welcome change from the taxing face moves on the rest of the route!

Comments: Forward this link to your friends and have them write the NPS as well. This is an important issue. I know many climbers would be devastated if we were denied access to some of the most beautiful climbing spots in the world. GET ON IT!!!

Comments: Fantastic route. This one has it all. One of my favorites in Eldo.

Comments: I went to climb at Castlewood on 3/13 and found the creek was up quite a bit, which took out the bridge, closing the trail to the inner canyon. We then went to the north entrance to access some climbing. Crossing the creek proved to be a little tricky with the high water level. Still do-able, just be careful.

Comments: If I remember correctly, the crack up top takes #3, 3.5 and/or 4 Camalots. Use a runner to reduce rop drag over the lip.

Comments: No zebras were harmed. However, my chances of ever getting a girlfriend were greatly reduced. Besides, wild zebras are extremely hard to come across in Colorado!

Comments: I have mixed feelings about this route. I was expecting this climb to be a gem, and there were some great sections. However, there were also a few places where you had to climb through some crappy rock. My partner ended up pulling several good-sized blocks off the wall. Fortunately we were the only party around. I guess what I'm saying is that I'd recommend this route for convenience sake (short approach) and the scenery, but I feel there are much better quality routes around at the same gr... more >>

Comments: I tried to visit this crag for the first time last weekend and found no trespassing signs at the dirt road turn-off. The gate was open, but I didn't head in. I'm assuming this place is closed.

Comments: Climbed this route with Tom Haines on Feb 25. We encountered short sections with bullet-hard ice and longer sections with unconsolidated snow. Over all the route was in good shape though. Give yourself plenty of time, as we saw two parties on Kiener's that may have summitted in the dark as temps really dropped. I imagine that descending the Cable Route in the dark really sucks.

Comments: I attempted this route on Oct. 17 and was forced to bail when a storm moved in and lightning was striking just overhead. I had to leave a #2 Camalot on pitch 4. If you should happen to stumble upon this, I would greatly, greatly appreciate if you would email me. Thanks.Jpleonhard@aol.com

Comments: I thought that all of the pitches were very fun with the exception of the first. Not because it was low angle or lacking exposure, but because someone decided to take a dump on it! That may have been the crux of the entire route, holding my breath as I mantled onto a ledge with my face inches away from a 4 inch turd. If you have to do your business, use the talus pile at the base of the route, or worst case, traverse off route on one of the terraces. That route sees enough traffic and I coul... more >>

Comments: Like many others, I would definitely recommend the Better than Love direct start. The second pitch was, in my opinion, more sustained and therefore a bit harder than the 5.9 roof. The second pitch has great pro and great rock. I would advise using a 60m rope as well. The party above us was able to combine the 5th and 6th pitch, both of which are runout. They were able to get to a good belay ledge and avoid my hanging belay on a questionable flake. Also, we encountered the worst mosquitos t... more >>

Comments: I was along with Colin on our trip to climb the Finger of Fate, and I confess, I was the "eternal jugger" of the three, while the other two did a fine job of hauling my ass up that pile. I agree with Colin that, if at all possible, a party should try to complete the route clean. I think a lot of parties can since that was our trio's first aid experience, and trust me, we are no seasoned hard-men, just young, ignorant punks. However, I find it a bit ironic that the only reason we (also read: t... more >>

Comments: Word on the street is that there are "no climbing" signs near the boulders now. Some people that live around there talked to my brother while he was climbing and said that he was trespassing.
