Comments: Should we really be encouraging people to go "hands free" when using a Grigri? The School of Rock section of MP is not the place for encouraging bad, and dangerous, habits.

Comments: I couldn't tell you where the two climbs listed are, but these are two good 5.4-5.6 options on the Two Pin boulder. Honestly, it could be pretty difficult to track down who did these two lines first to know what the names are.

Comments: I still think this is the best trad route in the canyon!

Comments: It's easy to descend the route in 3 raps with a 60m. Start at the rap station at the big tree and rap down to the ends of your rope. Rap on good bolts from here angling right to two more good bolts. The last rap is a rope stretcher, but it works.

Comments: Great route, not too difficult. 12 bolts to a Fixe anchor with clips. My friend who hasn't climbed much before top roped it with tennis shoes and only needed to weight the rope once. No power needed.

Climbed Saturday 7/28/12. We were the only ones on the face, so much for it being the "Cattle Route." That said, nearly the entire climb was soaking wet from the massive rain the night before. I think we were off route on the crux pitch till the very end and ended up resting on gear a bit. Still, it was a great day!

Climbed yesterday in 12.5 h c2c. Left the trail head at 3 (we had to drive back to Texas that day) and started climbing a few minutes before 7. We had a quick pace until we reached the gash and got off route in the darkness causing our scramble up the talus to be unnecessarily brutal.

At the end of the first rope stretching pitch I had ventured too far to the right causing us to have to do a 30m traverse up and... more >>

Comments: Climbed 6/2/12. Route is in great condition and the approach is dry enough that you don't really need traction or trekking poles as the NPS website suggests. Left the trailhead at 3:30 and summited in 5 pitches at 11 just before some thunder rolled in making for an exciting descent.

Comments: I think George is correct, although when we did it we went around to the left like the photo. The climbing was mostly stemming and pretty easy.

Comments: Climbed here yesterday. Does anyone know what the bolted route just right of Roadside Distraction is? All hangers are spray painted black, and the climb seemed like a good 5.11.

Comments: I don't think the park approves of climbing this boulder and anyone caught climbing it might get in trouble. I vote that we should take it off of the sight.

Comments: First trad lead many years ago. I remember being so scared that I placed a piece every 2ft or so. I did it last year and placed maybe 4-5 pieces.

Comments: I believe the Lighthouse was first climbed in 1960 by Derrell Chandler and Geary McCaule before it was part of the state park.

Craghopper, I'm always looking for new routes down there, any beta is much appreciated! Also, if any of the names on here are wrong just let me know and I'll make sure they get changed.

Comments: When we did this we continued past the belay and scrambled around to a big 5.6 crack (To the right of the crack there is some bolted route) and followed it to the Larry's Folly anchors where we met the other climbers of our group and were able to use both of our ropes to get down.
