Comments: I have climbed this many times. It's no harder than 5.5 except for the last short pitch which is 5.7+. I free soloed it in 2007 and went right to avoid crux.

Comments: Should Dolores Canyon be under Durango? I was also wondering if anyone was going to post Rico. The crags in Rico have made the internet, so are they really on the down low anymore!

Comments: After re-climbing this route and speaking with someone else from MP who led it, sustained 5.8 is what are thinking.

Comments: 5.10b? Maybe harder, maybe easier, but the moves between 1st and second bolt are crux.

Comments: While rope soling the crux of this climb, I found two small finger holds- BOTH CHIPPED. Now we know why the person who put up these routes has not given any feedback.

Comments: Looking at my book, you are right. A new bolted route does exist. It starts out low and easy to the first set of chains. The second pitch goes up th black streak which I agree is around 10a. The crux is pulling over the top. The crux is very well-protected.

Comments: If you climb this, I would start on Illusion Cchain and work left to the crack. Why bother with the crap below it.

Comments: If anyone is interested in helping me do a clean up here, I will dispose of the garbage we collect. I am thinking of getting it done in the next two weeks. 1 or 2 people would be a great help.
Thanks,
JB

Comments: My photos are from mid November 2007 with almost no snow. This is a great early season warm up if we HAVE MINIMAL SNOW. Walk off left and you will hate the downclimb no matter what.

Comments: If you follow the river up from Haus Rock, pull off or park on the next pulloff to the right walk up river to find the crossing. Then walk back down the river trail and look for a trail going up the hill.

Comments: The white line on the beta photo shows the way to climb the route. Don't get sucked left. It may pull you left but it is actually harder to get back on route. Stay with the bolt line.

Comments: I think the best way to get to this rock is to follow the trail up past Atlantis. Stay right of the boulder field and find a trail on the hill to the right. Follow the trail over to the dome. The next drainage has tons of poison ivy with no trail.
