Comments: I believe the local consensus is 5.8. Very fun route. Not posting the name for obvious reasons.

Comments: Lead this today. Gear is totally G-rated and route is better than most of the shorter routes at Crow Hill IMHO (except for Tom's Dilemma, of course). The crux before the top-out is made much easier with a perfect crimp on the left.

Comments: Most of the crag is suprisingly dry given how wet crow hill is right now. The taller portion of the wall is bone dry, including the whole crack system.

Comments: Definitely the best route here when it comes in.... Rare as that may be. Upper pillar is great but spends a lot of time in the sun.

Comments: There is an easy (WI 2 ish) ice route that forms in the woods to the left of End Crags as well. When in fully, it goes for about 35 feet at a low angle and occasionally a bulge at the top. Easy but fun for beginners. Probably the only real WI route here. Certainly not a destination for ice climbing... but maybe there is more in town.... ; ).

Comments: There was a fairly significant rock fall here in the past week. Between the start of Watusi and Chimney there are several large blocks obstructing the path. It appears as the first 10-15 feet of Birds Of Fire have stripped right off the cliff.

Comments: This is a decent chunk of stone.... Bigger than it looks from the road.

Comments: Thanks for the post, Losbill. So is 5.9 the actual grade on this route? Boston Rocks has it at 5.8, but it definitely feels more consistent with Watusi and Topaz in grade.

Comments: If anyone has any historical information on this route, I would love to hear it. Truly a neglected gem of a climb.

Location: MA : Leominster Area : Crow Hill : Fisherman's Wall : Tarzan (5.8+)
By: JD1984 When: Nov 3, 2014

Comments: I should probably clarify that the accident on Tarzan in 2011 was the result of what appeared to be a leader being unfamiliar with an auto-locking belay device. The leader had completed the first pitch and was belaying his second. When the second asked to be lowered in order to get back on the crux section, the leader dropped him into free-fall all the way to the ground, approximately 40 feet.

I have always found the protection to be adequate, and a bolt would not have prevented this accident.... more >>

Comments: I just noticed a video camera in the parking area fastened to a tree. Is this area actively under surveillance? I know the parking area has been the site of many car break-ins in the past. Does anyone know who put this up?

Comments: Some of the holds in the upper face are a little suspect. A rather large one broke off recently resulting in a pretty gnarly fall. Careful what you pull on!

Definitely the easiest route in the Corridor. Fun, but nothing fantastic.

Comments: If there is a harder 5.8 out there, I don't know about it.... Very serious climb at the grade. That said... spectacular route!

Comments: Blowup (5.9) makes for a nice, though seldom done, 2nd mini-pitch. It may or may not have a small thorn bush growing right beneath the roof. Follow easy ramp to an obvious roof with a heel hook and toe jam.... Dirty but fun and way better than the easy corner that makes the top portion of Post Road.

Location: NH : White's Ledge : Endeavour (5.7+)
By: JD1984 When: Aug 12, 2014

Comments: I recently climbed Endeavor with a single 70m rope and I cannot recommend trying to rap with just that. The tree in the center of the climb is small, dead and worn halfway thru and cannot be trusted as a rap anchor. If hiking down is not an option I would have the second trail an additional rope just for the rap. Double ropes get you down real quick and leave plenty of time to sample the excellent single pitch routes at the bottom.

Comments: The bugs are so bad here in summertime that I won't return until fall. I was able to locate more good problems and even two short trad lines in my last few visits before the black flies and Mosquitos chased me out. Should make a good winter destination for mid week training sessions....
