Comments: Current conditions on this route could be a lot better. The snowfield up to the base of the rock pitch is slushy but not bad. Lots of thermal melting on the snowfield and beware of rockfall. It was littered with fist-sized detritus from above. The 150 ft. rock pitch is VERY wet. Kind of like climbing up a mini waterfall. Unfortunately this route is far past its prime for the season as of July 20.

Comments: Snowshoed into Loch Vale this morning after a cold bivy last night. The whole area appears pretty thin with brittle conditions. We ran into one other party who had set a TR to do laps on a 15-20' section that starts out mixed (read ice doesn't reach ground). We didn't even bother to gear up. Probably not worth the hike in until we get some thawing and the flows get a bit bigger unless you enjoy post-holin' up to do mostly dry toolin'. If you do, be careful of the thigh-breaking sink holes on t... more >>

Comments: Spectacular alpine climb-- backdrop, exposure, weather-- all the ingredients. Only two other parties on the route so really no gridlock. Definitely start way before 7am as this is about the time everyone arrives at the base. Had to bail 1 1/2 pitches from the summit but we enjoyed every minute of the climb up. The .8 pitch was just beautiful! The descent was another story. Bringing one 60m rope was a bad, no, rather, a horrible idea. The rap down took us seemingly forever. Definitely bring t... more >>

Comments: Climbed Pumphouse falls with Ben Schultz on 12/10. Solid WI3 to 3+. Middle section was pretty wet but held screws well, some mixed possibilities to the far left and right. Somebody has fixed webbing and rap rings to the tree at top-thanks!

Comments: Hiked into base of Dreamweaver on 11/26. Approach was long and hard due to unconsolidated snow much of the way and increasing from Chasm Lake to the final approach. Expect lots of postholing in 7-10" of snow with a 1-2" crust with loose snow underneath which facets when you stomp. Avalanche conditions were moderate with the Loft being leeward facing. On the other hand, Columbine Falls ice looks fat!
