Comments: ...for Main Wall. Which is to say, it's one of the easiest routes on that wall. Moderate is relative.

Comments: D'oh. You're right. It was late, and I get the names mixed up anyway. The short 10a is Milk Bone. Yes, the 5-bolt 11a is Wishbone. Fixed it.

Comments: I don't believe in "secret handshakes" (and anyway, how could you possibly keep the Buffalo Park boulders secret?); I do believe in good juju. The guys down at www.boulderingtopo.com are a couple of Flag locals who have worked hard to make some nice PDF guides for areas that previously never had official guides. I never knew of specific problems here til I got their guide, and any problems I'd have put here I'd have thus jacked from them. Not cool. Support small business and mak... more >>

Location: AZ : Northern Arizona : Winslow/ Clint's Well Areas : Jacks Canyon : Cracker Jack Cliffs : Sinker (5.5) By: Hillary Davis When: Mar 21, 2007 | view comment >> |
Comments: Aesthetic and a must-do novelty, but by no means classic. I wouldn't stick a conservative beginning leader on a traversing route like this, but that's just me. Bakes in the sun and inaccessible during periods of high water.

Location: AZ : Northern Arizona : Winslow/ Clint's Well Areas : Jacks Canyon : Cracker Jack Cliffs : Snap, Crack, or Pop (5.9) By: Hillary Davis When: Mar 21, 2007 | view comment >> |
Comments: I climbed this again in March 07 and it only had 3 bolts. You don't HAVE to hand jam but sticking a foot jam is really the only way to get past that little crack section. "Cute" route. May as well.

Comments: A legit 5.10 with a funky start (bonus points if you avoid the tree). This isn't a 5.8 calling itself 5.10 that you think Jacks is full of. Worth doing.

Comments: Crux is fun but it's a 3-move wonder. Most of the route is 5.7 jug and ledge paddling.

Comments: I really like this route, and honestly, it's worth the hike for this alone. Yes, for a bolted 5.5. The little summit is nice and the views are lovely, and the climbing is very mellow, enjoyable bucket-hauling. It's fun for beginners, but it would NOT be a good toprope- it's best to second your partner up and scramble down the notch (or rappel if that's your thang). I've heard you can place gear, but I didn't find it even close to necessary, personally.

Comments: I have it on good record that the right-hand anchors belong to a 5.10 TR, and I think it's going to be bolted (not by me) as a sport lead.

Comments: The route will be fun unless/until it falls down... choss aside, it's steep and different for Lemmon.
