Comments: It appears a large chunk of rock fell off just to the right the area between the 2nd and 3rd bolts. There are still a few loose pieces, but I think the route now climbs more like a 5.8-5.9.

Comments: The right-side anchor is quite loose (the bolt wiggles back and forth), and it appears that the bolt may never have set deep enough to fully engage the expansion anchor. Be wary of trusting this anchor.

Comments: HOW NOT TO BELAY: big loop of slack, seemingly not paying much attention to his climber, probably putting way too much trust in his belay device (probably gri-gri which he is holding open). Ground fall potential is pretty high and at 20 feet up over nasty rocks, injury potential is really high.

Comments: To paraphrase: "there are bold climbers and old climbers, but not old, bold climbers". Everyone besides Mr. Aitken, should don a helmet (for when you fall upside down back into the rock) and put in pro, (to keep from hitting said rock).

Comments: Just went out today for the first time. A great area, but a couple of comments/cautions. The online guide (link in the description above) is very helpful but not always up to date. There were several climbs that were missing bolts and several others that are in the process of having bolts replaced (Thank You!). We found one loose bolt, as we were cleaning a 5.9 on Scale Wall. Speaking of cleaning, be ready to deal with dirty climbs (mud appears to run off of the top of Scale Wall). We also clear... more >>
