Location: UT : Maple Canyon : Right Fork : The Damascus Gate : Dr. Goodkind (5.12a) By: Greg Taylor When: Jul 12, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: This could be a good route if it cleans up. It is still pretty sandy. Anchors are the normal three links of chain. Wish people would use a longer chain, or mussy hooks, when they put up a route.

Location: ID : City of Rocks : Steinfell's Dome : Sinocranium (5.8) By: Greg Taylor When: Jun 14, 2011 | view comment >> | Comments: Fun climb for an intro to multi-pitch. Did this in 4 pitches with a single 70m rope (1, 2, 3-4, 5-6). Combining pitch 3 and 4 is a FULL 70 meters but takes you right to the head wall for the crux. Crux seems hard for 5.8 but maybe it is just the abrupt change in difficulty and style. Beautiful views of the entire area.

Location: UT : Maple Canyon : Right Fork : The Minimum Crag : Minienticer (5.9) By: Greg Taylor When: Jun 14, 2010 | view comment >> | Comments: Maybe I stared in the wrong place or more likely there is a new(er) route between the steep face and Minienticer because the bottom 20-30 feet was really sandy with enough loose rock to make it exciting. I started on the face left of the arete in the picture, the first bolt was just out of reach from the ground and went up the face through the dark streak seen in the upper left of the beta photo to chain anchors. Also this took 16 draws, plus two for the chains. Some long draws for the lower ... more >>

Location: UT : Maple Canyon : Right Fork : Simpson Rock : Fun with Flanders (5.8) By: Greg Taylor When: Jun 5, 2010 | view comment >> | Comments: Assuming that this is the left route of the two on the face overlooking the road. The climbing is ok but pretty mossy and dirty, also higher up, just below the bulge, there is a lot of loose rock. I tossed a chunk down that was just laying there loose, probably the size of a bowling ball, and knocked off a bunch of other little pieces while pulling over the bulge. May want your belayer to stand off to the side.

Location: UT : Maple Canyon : Left Fork : Engagement Alcove : Wet Itchies (5.7) By: Greg Taylor When: May 17, 2010 | view comment >> | Comments: This is a nice route for beginners. Good holds and lots of places to rest. Thank you for replacing the anchors however the new location doesn't make sense to me. Would have been great if they were below the lip to avoid rope drag and an odd ending to an otherwise nice climb.
