Comments: I can't imagine rating this route anything less than four stars. This is another Woodson classic. A poor sequence will definitely beat you down but avoiding the bad sections accompanied with good footwork brings out the best in this one!

Comments: I have to disagree with the reference to IHMT having poor feet in the first fifteen feet of climbing. Marginal finger jams yes but feet are key here and are quite positive considering the overhanging nature of that part of the route.

Comments: Wow! This route brings back frightening memories when I and K. Klis did this route back in the early 80's! If my memory serves me correctly, I remember leading both pitches, first, liebacking up a small, left facing dihedral to a liken spattered flake which you undercling for about 4-5 meters out to the left. You then, after the flake runs out, with the last cam under the flake to your right about two meters, pull off this crux high-step (5.10b) by smearing up onto a nub into a standing position... more >>

Comments: Word had it "back in the day" that that "remaining bolt" was placed to aid in a hooking ascent of the entire face which started underneath the bottom apex that rests on the grounded stone.
"Troy" and "Marty", out of Ramona, did a good job in bolting Uncertainty Principle in the late 80's, early 90's?. Too bad it was taken down, IMOHO!

Comments: The left branch of MS goes at 5.11b. True Story: Back in the early 80's I saw a guy highball this variation drunk at sundown almost in the dark! I have no idea who this wrap around glasses character was!

Comments: Psst! Beta...treat this double overhanging dihedral as a layback and save yourself some skin and tape! After Piggot showed me, I never wore another piece of tape on this. Keep the left foot in the crack the whole way and avoid the fat section completely by reaching past it with your hands! Crux is the start and topping out (slap for the big mushroom!). Makes for a solid highball at 5.10d!

Comments: If you ever listen to someone start this problem you'll understand why it has it's name. Those with large pectoral muscles are at a disadvantage. This is a fairly safe route to third class with a downclimb off the backside.
