Comments: To make descents safe and convenient, most of the rappel anchors in LDE have been updated to bolts have quick links and carabiners attached (see the photo above). Many thanks to Eric Rhicard and Jim Scott for introducing us to this safe, simple idea.
NOTE: the carabiners are not booty - please leave them in place. Occasionally, the rappel biners will become worn, so bring an old carabiner or two to replace worn ones if needed.

Try the upper variation to Endgame off its third pitch. In my opinion it's the best pitch on the wall. Very exposed and stellar climbing!

I agree that the high number of heavily bolted routes on the Sheepshead do make it a speed climbing venue.

Comments: glad to hear that you're gonna cave and use a helmet for this one, eric. i've taken care of a lot of head-injured patients over the years - now i'm so concerned about head injuries that i use a helmet to walk around my house.

Comments: Marcy and I did a bunch of cleaning on this route this past weekend and added a new rappel anchor from the top as well as a new belay stance for the third pitch. The route's cleaning up really well and is a lot of fun.

Comments: this is "toofast's tidepool". in hot weather, toofast makes regular trips down to this stream to cool off. as more and more climbers (and their dogs) have visited LDE, toofast's new friends have had fun there, too.
until this spring, the water was flowing and really clean. hopefully marcy's right and the stream will get recharged in the winter wet season.

Comments: Thanks, Arjun! Glad you liked it! Marcy did this FA onsight and was very excited that it went entirely on gear. We didn't know exactly what to expect with that huge wide crack up there, so Marcy carried up a world of big gear to #6. The crux on Marcy's FA was probably the opening moves with 20 pounds of gear dangling off her!
