Comments: A bolted anchor on this route would be wonderous. The pins are a bit sketchy, and the climb is a great "beginner's" route (when it's not so wet!).

Comments: SUPER Fun. Probably one of the most exciting and fun sport pitches I've climbed. There is a fun variation starting up and moving right from the left belay alcove, 5.9 stemming moves, and fun start to a great climb. Gear TR Anchor takes .5-#1 Camalot sizes in a vertical crack just above the top out.

Comments: There are now two fixed cams in the .75"in ranged crack in the second open book formation. Its a .5 X4 & some OP Link Cam. This is the second time I've seen fixed cams in that crack, I cleaned two out in January, and now, theres more... I couldn't clean either with the limited time I had, but I believe they'll need to be cut out. Looks like the .5 was hammed in, while the Link Cam was exploded.

Comments: We climbed a few routes to the right of Hanging Gardens (We had no guide book, or topo) and honestly got in some very hairy terrain. The climbing and pro wasn't too bad, but a good chunk of the rock that had older bolts near by was severely fractured, loose, and flakey. Wile rapping off some belay station I stepped on a flake and it collapsed sending a good child sized chunk of thin rock down the face.

Just a reminder to be very careful and thoughtful both while climbing, and rappelling.

Comments: The Description here regarding the location of the Downtown climbs is pretty vague since the "fence" seems to be on the left hand side of the road completely opposite of the crags? Anyways, Park at (or hike to) the right hand (East side) pullout with a Forest Service kiosk with a map and follow the trail to your right to access the downtown area (which is the wall slightly to the right and behind the trees to this kiosk).

Comments: If you're interested in rope soloing this & the left 5.6 crack you can set up a bottom anchor in a deep flaring pod just below the aforementioned 5.6 with 2x #1 & 1x #2 C4's.

Comments: When wanting to exit on the left to pull the roof one can use the long chains from "Not Your Average Joe" on the back of the tower to set up a top-belay. Another note, the roof is well protected with a bolt at the lip, and the roof has very positive holds & good feet.

Comments: Rap Anchor missing chains. One Rap bolt is missing its chains. As such we slung some webbing & a quick-link as a temporary fix.

  • *Also there is a stuck nut (#11/12?) on the last pitch, midway up, which would be easily removed with a little bit of play. Enjoy.

Comments: If climbing above the ledge on the upper portion watch a fraile hand hold on the arete just above the first bolt (above the chains). Its super chalked and feels about ready to break off.
